Abstract

An organic electroluminescent display device includes an array element layer formed on a substrate, the array element layer including a switching element, a driving a driving element, a first electrode, an organic luminescent layer, and a second electrode, and a ground line formed on the substrate, the ground line directly contacting the second electrode.

Claims (13)

1. An organic electroluminescent display device, comprising:

an array element layer formed on a substrate, the array element layer including a switching element, a driving element, a first electrode, an organic luminescent layer, and a second electrode;

a ground line formed at a periphery of the substrate and exposed by a ground contact hole; and

an interposition layer formed on the ground line to cover the ground contact hole and to contact with the ground line electrically for improving contact resistance between the ground line and the second electrode;

wherein the organic luminescent layer includes a hole injection layer on the first electrode, a hole transporting layer on the hole injection layer, an emission layer on the hole transporting layer, an electron transporting layer on the emission layer, and an electron injection layer on the electron transporting layer, and

wherein the second electrode is electrically connected to the ground line through the interposition layer.

2. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the switching element includes a switching gate electrode, a switching source electrode and switching drain electrode, and the driving element includes a driving gate electrode, a driving source electrode and a driving drain electrode, the switching drain electrode being connected to the driving gate electrode, and the first electrode being connected to the driving drain electrode.

3. The device according to claim 2 , wherein the array element layer further includes a gate line along a first direction, a data line crossing the gate line along a second direction, and a power line connected to the driving source electrode.

4. The device according to claim 2 , wherein the ground line is formed of the same material as the switching source electrode, the switching drain electrode, the driving source electrode and the driving drain electrode.

5. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the electron injection layer is not formed on the ground line.

6. The device according to claim 5 , wherein the electron injection layer includes one of a fluoride compound and an oxide compound.

7. The device according to claim 1 , further comprising a planarization layer under the first electrode, the ground line being exposed through the planarization layer.

8. The device according to claim 1 , wherein the array element layer is formed in a first region of the substrate and the ground line is formed in a second region of the substrate, the second region being in a periphery of the first region and the second electrode extending from the first region to the second region to contact the ground line.
