c) an anterior concave region located radially outwardly of said anterior optic surface;

d) an outer-most peripheral edge surface located radially outwardly of said anterior and posterior concave regions; and

e) a posteriorly extending sharp edge defined by an angle “A” and extending 360° around said posterior optic surface and defined by first and second surfaces, said first surface being coupled between the sharp edge and the posterior concave region and said second surface coupled between the sharp edge and said outer-most peripheral edge surface

wherein the lens has a minimum distance between the posterior concave region and the anterior concave region, the minimum distance being less than a second thickness of the lens at a second location that is disposed radially outwardly of the location of the minimum distance.

2. The intraocular lens of claim 1 , and further comprising at least one haptic extending from said outer-most peripheral edge.

3. The intraocular lens of claim 2 wherein the thickness “T 1 ” of said haptic is between about 0.20 mm and 0.40 mm.

4. The intraocular lens of claim 2 wherein the thickness “T 1 ” of said haptic is between about 0.25 mm and 0.35 mm.

5. The intraocular lens of claim 2 wherein the thickness “T 1 ” of said haptic is about 0.30 mm.

6. The intraocular lens of claim 1 and further comprising an anterior edge surface extending substantially perpendicular to said optical axis between said anterior concave region and said outer-most peripheral edge surface.

7. The intraocular lens of claim 1 wherein said posterior optic surface is convex.

8. The intraocular lens of claim 1 wherein said anterior optic surface is convex.

9. The intraocular lens of claim 1 wherein said anterior and posterior optic surfaces are both convex.

10. The intraocular lens of claim 1 made according to a method comprising the steps of:

a) providing a button of lathable, intraocular grade material and blocking the button to an arbor;

b) lathing said posterior optic surface and said sharp edge of said intraocular lens in said button;

c) deblocking said button from said arbor and reblocking said button to an arbor with the posterior optic surface thereof facing down toward said arbor; and

d) lathing said anterior optic surface of said intraocular lens in said button.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the intraocular lens has a perimeter and further comprising the step of milling said button to form said perimeter.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein said intraocular lens includes at least one haptic and said milling step includes milling said button to form the perimeter of said at least one haptic.

13. The intraocular lens of claim 1 where the radius of said anterior concave region is substantially equal to the radius of said posterior concave region.

14. The intraocular lens of claim 13 wherein said anterior and posterior concave regions are located substantially opposite each other.

15. The intraocular lens of claim 14 wherein the minimum thickness “T 3 ” between said radii is between about 0.10 mm and 0.3 mm.

16. The intraocular lens of claim 14 wherein the minimum thickness “T 3 ” between said radii is about 0.20 mm.

17. The intraocular lens of claim 13 wherein said radius is between about 0.15 mm and 0.50 mm.

18. The intraocular lens of claim 13 wherein said radius is between about 0.20 mm and 0.40 mm.

19. The intraocular lens of claim 13 wherein said radius is about 0.30 mm.

20. The intraocular lens of claim 13 wherein said anterior and posterior concave regions are located substantially opposite each other and the minimum thickness “T 3 ” between said radii is between about 0.10 mm and 0.3 mm.

21. The intraocular lens of claim 20 , and further comprising at least one haptic extending from said outer-most peripheral edge of said optic.

22. The intraocular lens of claim 21 wherein said thickness “T 3 ” between said radii is less than said thickness “T 1 ” of said haptic.

23. The intraocular lens of claim 22 wherein said haptic is spaced from the posterior limit of said outer-most peripheral edge surface.

24. The intraocular lens of claim 23 wherein said spacing has a height “H 1 ” between about 0.05 mm and 0.25 mm.

25. The intraocular lens of claim 23 wherein said spacing has a height “H 1 ” between about 0.10 mm and 0.20 mm.

26. The intraocular lens of claim 23 wherein said spacing has a height “H 1 ” of about 0.13 mm.

27. The intraocular lens of claim 1 wherein the second surface forms an angle “B” with the outer-most edge, and wherein said angle “B” is between about 110 and 150 degrees.

28. The intraocular lens of claim 27 wherein said angle “B” is between about 120 and 140 degrees.

29. The intraocular lens of claim 27 wherein said angle “B” is about 130 degrees.
