Abstract

A building material composite that includes a building substrate at least partially lined with a urethane material. The urethane material of the present invention is typically the reaction product of an A-side that includes an isocyanate and a B-side that typically includes: a blown vegetable oil, a cross-linking agent, and a catalyst; a blown vegetable oil and a multifunctional alcohol; or an esterified polyol and a catalyst where the esterified polyol is typically the reaction product of a first polyol and a blown vegetable oil.

Claims (10)

1. A building material composite comprising: a building material substrate at least partially lined with a rigid urethane material wherein the rigid urethane material comprises a reaction product of an A-side comprising an isocyanate and a B-side comprising an esterified polyol and a catalyst wherein the esterified polyol comprises a reaction product of a first polyol and a blown vegetable oil and the first polyol comprises the reaction product of a first multifunctional compound and a second multifunctional compound.

2. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the B-side further comprises a polyol at least partially derived from petroleum and wherein the B-side is free of any cross-linker.

3. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the B-side further comprises a blowing agent and the rigid urethane material is a rigid foam.

4. The building material composite of claim 3 , wherein the blowing agent comprises at least one blowing agent chosen from the group consisting of a hydrochloroflurocarbon, a hydroflurocarbon, a hydrocarbon, water, and methylene chloride and the B-side further comprises a plurality of polyether polyols.

5. The building material composite of claim 3 , wherein the B-side further comprises a cross-linker and wherein isocyanate comprise at least about 38% by weight of the rigid urethane material.

6. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the B-side further comprises a cross-linker.

7. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the blown vegetable oil comprises at least one blown vegetable oil chosen from the group consisting of blown palm oil, blown safflower oil, blown canola oil, blown soy oil, blown cottonseed oil, and blown rapeseed oil.

8. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the second multifunctional compound comprises a saccharide compound and wherein the saccharide compound comprises a saccharide compound chosen from the group consisting of monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, sugar alcohols, and honey.

9. The building material composite of claim 1 , wherein the first multifunctional compound comprises an active hydrogen containing compound.

10. The building material composite of claim 9 , wherein the active hydrogen containing compound comprises a multifunctional alcohol.
