Abstract

A communication semiconductor integrated circuit has an oscillator circuit forming part of a transmission PLL circuit fabricated on a single semiconductor chip together with an oscillator circuit forming part of a reception PLL circuit and an oscillator circuit for an intermediate frequency. The oscillator circuit forming part of the transmission PLL circuit is configured to be operable in a plurality of bands. A circuit for measuring the oscillating frequency of the oscillator circuit forming part of the transmission PLL circuit is also used for measuring the oscillating frequency of the oscillator circuit forming part of the reception PLL circuit or for measuring the oscillating frequency of the oscillator circuit for the intermediate frequency.

Claims (17)

1. A semiconductor integrated circuit device for wireless communication comprising:

a receiving circuit which receives receiving signals from an antenna;

a transmitting circuit which provides transmitting signals to the antenna;

a first synthesizer which is coupled with a first oscillator that generates a first oscillation signal for supplying to the receiving circuit and the transmitting circuit and which measures a frequency of the first oscillation signal for controlling the first oscillator;

a second synthesizer which is coupled with a second oscillator that generates a second oscillation signal for supplying to the transmitting circuit and which measures a frequency of the second oscillation signal for controlling the second oscillator, and

wherein the second synthesizer further measures frequencies of oscillation signals which are generated by another oscillator different from the first oscillator.

2. A semiconductor integrated circuit device according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first oscillator is able to oscillate at a plurality of oscillating frequency bands; and

wherein the second oscillator is able to oscillate at a plurality of oscillating frequency bands which are different from the first oscillator.

3. A semiconductor integrated circuit device according to claim 2 ,

wherein the first synthesizer comprises a first counter for measuring frequency of the first oscillation signal, a first register for storing frequency information of the first oscillation signal measured by the counter,

wherein the second synthesizer comprises a second counter for measuring frequency of the second oscillation signal, a second register for storing frequency information of the second oscillation signal measured by the counter, and

wherein the second synthesizer further comprises a third register for storing frequency information of the oscillation signals measured by the counter.

4. A semiconductor integrated circuit device for wireless communication comprising: a receiving circuit which receives receiving signals from an antenna; a transmitting circuit which provides transmitting signals to the antenna; a first synthesizer which is coupled with a first oscillator that generates a radio frequency signal for supplying to the receiving circuit and the transmitting circuit and which measures a frequency of the radio frequency signal for controlling the first oscillator; a second synthesizer which is coupled with a second oscillator that generates an intermediate frequency signal for supplying to the transmitting circuit and which measures a frequency of the intermediate frequency signal for controlling the second oscillator; and wherein the first synthesizer measures oscillation frequencies of oscillated signals which are generated from oscillators different from the first oscillator.

5. A semiconductor integrated circuit device according to claim 4 ,

wherein the first oscillator is able to oscillate at a plurality of oscillating frequency bands; and

wherein the second oscillator is able to oscillate at a plurality of oscillating frequency bands which are different from the first oscillator.
