Abstract

A magnetic transfer wherein the exchange of master mediums is made easy to perform is provided, whereby the operational efficiency and transfer efficiency are improved, leading to an overall improvement in productivity in the manufacture of preformatted slave mediums. A master fixing base for determining and supporting the position of a master medium, which bears transfer data, and a conjoining apparatus for conjoining the master medium and the slave medium that is to receive the transfer therefrom are provided. The master medium is exchanged along with the master fixing base. It is preferable that a cleaning means be provided.

Claims (24)

1. A magnetic transfer method comprising:

conjoining the data bearing surface, on which a pattern corresponding to the transfer data has been formed, with the recording surface of a slave medium for receiving the transfer from a master medium to form a conjoined body,

and applying a transfer magnetic field thereto to perform the magnetic transfer,

wherein said master medium is adjustably disposed on the outer circumferential area of a slave support axis, wherein a central aperture of the slave medium is supported by the slave support axis;

after a center position of the pattern formed on the data bearing face of said master medium has been matched with a center position of the slave support axis and fixed in the matched position, the slave medium is supplied to said slave support axis, whereby the position matching of the master medium and the slave medium is performed by visual confirmation; and

the master medium is adjustable with respect to the center position of the support axis in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the slave support axis.

2. The magnetic transfer method as defined in claim 1 , wherein

the center position of the pattern of the master medium is visually measured by use of a measuring microscope, and

the center position of said pattern is matched with the center position of the slave support axis.

3. The magnetic transfer method as defined in claim 1 , wherein

a position matching mark is provided together with the transfer pattern formed on the master medium.

4. The magnetic transfer method as defined in claim 3 , wherein the matching mark is used to determine the center of the pattern.

5. The magnetic transfer method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the center position of the pattern formed on the master medium and the center position of the slave support axis are adjustable independent of each other.

6. A magnetic transfer apparatus comprising:

a slave support axis;

a master medium on which a pattern corresponding to transfer data has been formed adjustably disposed on the slave support axis, wherein a central position of the pattern is matched with a central position of the slave support axis and the master medium is fixed in the matched position; and

a slave medium disposed on the slave support axis, wherein the outer diameter of the slave support axis is a substantially similar size as a central aperture of the slave medium;

wherein the master medium is joined to the slave medium and a magnetic field is applied to perform magnetic transfer; and wherein the master medium is adjustable in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the slave support axis.

7. The magnetic transfer apparatus as defined in claim 6 , wherein the center position of the pattern of the master medium is visually measured by use of a measuring microscope, and

the center position of said pattern is matched with the center position of the slave support axis.

8. The magnetic transfer apparatus as defined in claim 6 , wherein a position matching mark is provided together with the transfer pattern formed on the master medium.

9. The magnetic transfer apparatus as defined in claim 8 , wherein the matching mark is used to determine the center of the pattern.

10. The magnetic transfer apparatus as defined in claim 6 , wherein the master medium is adjustable with respect to the center position of the support axis.

11. The magnetic transfer apparatus as defined in claim 6 , wherein the center position of the pattern formed on the master medium and the center position of the slave support axis are adjustable independent of each other.
