Target
A bullet target configured to improve the skills of a shooter includes, in one embodiment, a head plate which is attached to an arm by a resilient or semi-resilient attachment member to allow the head plate to visually deflect when hit by a bullet and to substantially return to its original position. In another embodiment, the improved target utilizes an attachment mechanism which allows the head to rotate relative to the arm within a stop to minimize transfer of vibrations between the head plate and the arm. In a third embodiment, a plurality of head plates are used in alignment and selectively exposed to the shooter to improve decision making ability.
1 . A bullet target comprising:
an arm;
a head plate; and
an attachment mechanism for connecting the arm to the head plate, the attachment mechanism comprising a resilient or semi-resilient material.
2 . The bullet target of claim 1 , wherein the attachment mechanism comprises rubber.
3 . The bullet target of claim 1 , wherein the head plate and the arm are attached separately to the attachment mechanism.
4 . The bullet target of claim 3 , wherein the attachment mechanism is a rubber block and wherein the head plate is attached to the rubber block by screws or bolts.

29 . A method for training a shooter comprising:
disposing a first target having a first configuration and a second target along a line of fire;
positioning the targets so that the first target must be knocked down to expose the second target.
30 . The method according to claim 29 , wherein the method comprises using a first target having a first configuration and a second target having a second configuration, wherein one of the configurations represents a perpetrator.
31 . A method for training a shooter, comprising:
positioning a first target having a first configuration representing a threat to the shooter and a second target having a second configuration representing no threat to the shooter behind an obstacle; and
selectively raising one of the first target and second target to expose the target and force the shooter to determine whether the target represents a threat and shoot be shot at.
