Abstract

A method, graphical interface and computer-readable medium for reformatting data including selecting at least one input file graphical element from a first pane corresponding to at least one input file to reformat. A reformatting batch job is created and is depicted in a second pane as a reformatting batch job graphical element when the at least one input file graphical element is selected in the first pane. At least one reformatting process is associated to the at least one input file in the reformatting batch job from a third pane. The reformatting batch job is executed with the at least one reformatting process being performed on the at least one input file.

a second pane including a reformatting batch job tree graphical element comprising a root batch job identifier, the batch job tree graphical element to depict a reformatting batch job generated when the at least one input file graphical element is selected in the first pane and inserted into the second pane, the batch job tree graphical element further comprising a plurality of distinct branches, wherein each distinct branch of the plurality is associated with an input file graphical element selected in the first pane and inserted into the second pane;

a third pane including at least one reformatting graphical element corresponding to at least one reformatting process, the at least one reformatting process associated with the at least one input file in the reformatting batch job when the at least one reformatting graphical element from a third pane is selected in the third pane and associated with the reformatting batch job graphical element in the second pane;

wherein each distinct branch in the batch job tree element of the second pane further comprises a hierarchy associating an input file graphical element with specific reformatting graphical elements for each reformatting process to be applied to the specific input file associated with its branch; and a reformat selector to initiate execution of the reformatting batch job wherein each of the first pane, the second pane and the third pane are simultaneously displayed in a single window.

11. The computer-readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the second pane is further configured to display a graphical element depicting a reformat processing status of each of the at least one reformatting processes of the reformatting batch job.

12. The computer-readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the second pane is further configured to display the reformatting batch job as a hierarchy of the at least one reformatting process at a global level for each of the at least one input file and a local level for an individual one of the at least one input file.

13. The computer-readable storage media of claim 10 , wherein the second pane is configured to display the reformatting batch job graphical element with the at least one reformatting process locally associated to one of the at least one input file.
