Abstract

A motor vehicle includes a drive train having a drive unit, a gearbox having a first gearbox input shaft and a second gearbox input shaft, and a clutch having a first clutch device which is associated with the first gearbox input shaft, and a second clutch device which is associated with the second gearbox input shaft, for transferring torque between the drive unit and the gearbox. The first and second clutch devices are plate clutches to which an operating fluid, such as a cooling oil, is supplied to operate the same. The gearbox is associated with an actuator device and a control device for controlling the actuator device, the arrangement of which enables the gears associated with the first and second gearbox input shafts to be engaged and disengaged. The control device is designed such that at least one gear is automatically engaged by the actuator device, as a result of the clutch release of the vehicle.

Claims (12)

1. A power train for a motor vehicle, said power train comprising:

a drive unit;

a power-shift gearbox with a first gearbox input shaft and a second gearbox input shaft; and

a clutch device with a first multi-disk clutch arrangement, which is assigned to the first gearbox input shaft, and a second multi-disk clutch arrangement, which is assigned to the second gearbox input shaft, for transmitting torque between the drive unit and the gearbox;

means for supplying an operating fluid to the clutch arrangements for operation under the action of the operating fluid; and

an actuator arrangement and a control unit, which controls the actuator arrangement, by means of which gears assigned to the first and the second gearbox input shafts can be engaged and disengaged;

wherein the control unit also controls a preferably hydraulic actuating device which is assigned or belongs to the clutch device in order to actuate the clutch arrangements in the engaging and disengaging directions; and

wherein the control unit is designed, when in power-shift mode, to use the actuating device to actuate the clutch arrangements in opposite directions when the gearbox is in a state in which a starting gear assigned to the one gearbox input shaft and a target gear assigned to the other gearbox input shaft are engaged in order to transfer the drive torque of the drive unit from the one to the other gearbox input shaft continuously and without interruption in the tractive force and to deactivate the starting gear as a torque-transmitting gear and to activate the target gear as the torque-transmitting gear, and

an active synchronizing mode is provided, in which, to deactivate the starting gear as the torque-transmitting gear and to activate the target gear as the torque-transmitting gear, first the starting gear is disengaged and/or the clutch arrangement assigned to the starting gear is opened; then the rpm's of the drive unit and/or the rpm's of the gearbox input shaft assigned to the target gear are brought to the synchronizing ratio of the target gear; and finally the target gear is engaged.

2. A power train as in claim 1 wherein, in active synchronizing mode, the rpm's of the drive unit and the rpm's of the gearbox input shaft assigned to the target gear are brought jointly to the synchronizing ratio of the target gear by the at least partial engagement of the clutch arrangement assigned to the target gear as the rpm's of the drive unit are being brought to the synchronizing ratio.

3. A power train as in claim 1 wherein, in active synchronizing mode, after the rpm's of the drive unit have been brought to the synchronizing ratio, the rpm's of the gearbox input shaft assigned to the target gear are brought to the synchronizing ratio by the at least partial engagement of the clutch arrangement assigned to the target gear.

4. A power train as in claim 1 wherein the active synchronizing mode is released for upshifting only when, with respect to the target gear, the instantaneous velocity of the vehicle corresponds to or exceeds a minimum idling speed of the drive unit.
