Cationic lipids and methods of use
View Patent ↗The present invention provides compositions comprising cationic lipids, liposomes and nucleic acid-lipid particles comprising the cationic lipids, and methods of using such compositions, liposomes, and nucleic acid-lipid particles.
1. A compound having the following structure:
wherein R 3 and R 4 are both linoleyl.
2. A compound of Formula I having the following structure:
wherein:
R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from the group consisting of: H and C 1 -C 3 alkyl; and
R 3 and R 4 are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups having from about 10 to about 20 carbon atoms, wherein both R 3 and R 4 comprise at least three sites of unsaturation.
3. The compound in accordance with claim 2 , wherein R 3 and R 4 are independently selected from the group consisting of: dodecatrienyl, tetradectrienyl, hexadecatrienyl, linolenyl, and icosatrienyl.
4. The compound in accordance with claim 3 , wherein R 1 and R 2 are methyl; and R 3 and R 4 are both linolenyl.
