Abstract

At least one exemplary embodiment of to present invention includes a method comprising obtaining a first frequency and a second frequency. The method also comprises creating a table of values comprising a plurality of target frequencies intermediate to the first and second frequencies, the table of values also comprising a pulse width, a pulse count, and a differential pulse width corresponding to each of the target frequencies from the plurality of target frequencies. The method further comprises outputting at least a portion of the values to a motion device.

Claims (23)

1. A method, comprising:

obtaining, at semi-logarithmically distributed time intervals, a plurality of target pulse widths;

calculating a plurality of intermediate pulse widths between two time-adjacent target pulse widths from said plurality of target pulse widths, said intermediate pulse widths determined by an accumulation of integral and sub-integral counts of a master clock; and

outputting the plurality of intermediate pulse widths to a motion device.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting the plurality of intermediate pulse widths over the Internet.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of intermediate pulse widths are output from a programmable logic controller.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of intermediate pulse widths are output from a pulse width generator.

5. A system, comprising:

a motion control processor adapted to obtain, at semi-logarithmically distributed time intervals, a plurality of target pulse widths;

means for calculating a plurality of intermediate pulse widths between two time-adjacent target pulse widths from said plurality of target pulse widths, said intermediate pulse widths determined by an accumulation of integral and sub-integral counts of a master clock; and

a pulse generator adapted to output a plurality corresponding to the plurality of intermediate pulse widths to the motion device.

6. A computer-readable medium containing instructions for activities comprising:

obtaining, at semi-logarithmically distributed time intervals, a plurality of target pulse widths;

calculating a plurality of intermediate pulse widths between two time-adjacent target pulse widths from said plurality of target pulse widths, said intermediate pulse widths determined by an accumulation of integral and sub-integral counts of a master clock; and

outputting from a pulse generator of a programmable logic controller a plurality of pulses corresponding to the plurality of intermediate pulse widths.

7. A method, comprising:

obtaining, at time intervals approximately according to a constrained semi-logarithmic distribution, a plurality of target pulse widths, said plurality of target pulse widths conforming to a specified maximum motion parameter, said specified maximum motion parameter a second order or greater time derivative of a position of a motion device, said plurality of target pulse widths;

calculating a plurality of intermediate pulse widths between two time-adjacent target pulse widths from said plurality of target pulse widths, said plurality of intermediate pulse widths determined by an accumulation of integral and sub-integral counts of a master clock; and

outputting said plurality of intermediate pulse widths to a motion device.

8. A method, comprising:

obtaining, at time intervals distributed approximately according to a specified curve, a plurality of target pulse widths conforming to a specified maximum motion parameter, said specified maximum motion parameter a second order or greater time derivative of a position of a motion device, and frequencies of said plurality of target pulse widths;

calculating a plurality of intermediate pulse widths between two time-adjacent target pulse widths from said plurality of target pulse widths, said plurality of intermediate pulse widths determined by an accumulation of integral and sub-integral counts of a master clock; and

outputting the plurality of intermediate pulse widths to a motion device.
