Abstract

A recording disk cartridge includes a plurality of flexible recording disk media, a rotational member, and a cartridge case. The rotational member holds the recording disk media so that the recording disk media simultaneously rotate. The cartridge case provides a rotationally free housing for the recording disk media and the rotational member. The cartridge case has an opening to allow an end portion of the rotational member to be exposed to an outside of the cartridge case. The recording disk cartridge has an elastic member which provides a force to thrust the rotational member toward the opening.

Claims (15)

1. A recording disk cartridge comprising:

a plurality of flexible recording disk media;

a rotational member for holding the recording disk media so that the recording disk media simultaneously rotate;

a cartridge case for providing a rotationally free housing for the recording disk media and the rotational member, the cartridge case having an opening to allow an end portion of the rotational member to be exposed to an outside of the cartridge case; and

a supporting shaft, which is positioned in a center of the rotational member on an opposite side of the end portion, the supporting shaft being slidably inserted in the rotational member in an axial direction thereof, an end of the supporting shaft abutting the cartridge case,

wherein the recording disk cartridge has an elastic member which provides a force to thrust the rotational member toward the opening, and

wherein the elastic member is disposed between the supporting shaft and the rotational member so that the elastic member thrusts the rotational member toward the opening.

2. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the rotational member comprises center cores which are provided for the respective recording disk media, and the center cores are stacked so as to be deprived of relative rotations.

3. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 2 , wherein the rotational member further comprises pins for preventing the relative rotations of the center cores.

4. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein each recording disk medium comprises a magnetic disk medium.

5. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein each recording disk medium comprises an optical disk medium.

6. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 1 , further comprising an abrasion resistant member,

wherein the abrasion resistant member is provided for at least one of the supporting shaft and a contacting portion of the cartridge case.

7. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 6 , wherein the rotational member comprises center cores which are provided for the respective recording disk media, and the center cores are stacked so as to be deprived of relative rotations.

8. A recording disk cartridge according to claim 7 , wherein the rotational member further comprises pins for preventing the relative rotations of the center cores.
