System for dynamically pushing information to a user utilizing global positioning system

1. A method comprising:

receiving a search query from a communications device, the search query comprising an identifier corresponding to the communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

initiating the transmission of a list of one or more search results to the communications device specified in the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the received search query.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the list of one or more search results is based on the time and day that the search query is received.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one search result is also associated with at least one demographic code associated with the communications device, and wherein the at least one demographic code associated with the communications device is based on one or more of an annual income of the communications device user, a vehicle owned by the communications device user, an Internet search history of the communications device user, and/or a purchase history of the communications device user.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the association of the communications device with a demographic code is received from a network source.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one search result in the list of one or more search results is an Internet website.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is based on one or more location codes encoded in data associated with the at least one search result.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is received from a network data source.

8. The method of claim 3 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with a demographic code is received from a network data source.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is received from the communications device.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is received from a system that monitors the geographic position of the communications device.

11. A method comprising:

sending a search query from a communications device, the search query comprising an identifier corresponding to the communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

receiving a list of one or more search results at the communications device in response to the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the search query.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the list of one or more search results is based on the time and day that the search query is sent.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one search result in the list of one or more search results is an Internet website.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is based on one or more location codes encoded in data associated with the search result.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least one search result is also associated with at least one demographic code associated with the communications device, and wherein the at least one demographic code associated with the communications device is based on one or more of an annual income of the communications device user, a vehicle owned by the communications device user, an Internet search history of the communications device user, and/or a purchase history of the communications device user.

16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is based on Global Positioning System coordinates.

17. A tangible computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions comprising:

instructions for receiving a search query comprising an identifier corresponding to a communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

instructions for initiating the transmission of a list of one or more search results to the communications device specified in the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the received search query.

18. A tangible computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions comprising:

instructions for initiating the transmission of a search query comprising an identifier corresponding to a communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

instructions for receiving a list of one or more search results in response to the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the received search query.

19. A system comprising:

one or more processors configured to receive a search query from a communications device, the search query comprising an identifier corresponding to the communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

wherein the one or more processors are configured to initiate the transmission of a list of one or more search results to the communications device in response to the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the received search query.

20. The system of claim 19 wherein the list of one or more search results is based on the time and day that the search query is received.

21. The system of claim 19 wherein the at least one search result is also associated with at least one demographic code associated with the communications device, and wherein the at least one demographic code associated with the communications device is based on one or more of an annual income of the communications device user, a vehicle owned by the communications device user, an Internet search history of the communications device user, and/or a purchase history of the communications device user.

22. The system of claim 21 , wherein the association of the communications device with the corresponding demographic code is received from a network source.

23. The system of claim 19 , wherein at least one search result in the list of one or more search results is an Internet website.

24. The system of claim 19 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is based on one or more location codes encoded in data associated with the at least one search result.

25. The system of claim 19 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is received from a network data source.

26. The system of claim 21 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding demographic code is received from a network data source.

27. The system of claim 19 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is received from the communications device.

28. The system of claim 19 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is received from a system that monitors the geographic position of the communications device.

29. A system comprising:

a processor configured to send a search query, the search query comprising an identifier corresponding to a communications device, an indication of the geographic position of the communications device, a search distance, and at least one search term; and

wherein the processor is configured to receive a list of one or more search results in response to the search query, wherein the list of one or more search results comprises at least one search result that is associated with a location code corresponding to a geographic region, wherein the geographic region corresponding to the location code associated with the at least one search result is a geographic region that is within the specified search distance from the geographic position of the communications device specified in the search query.

30. The system of claim 19 , wherein the list of one or more search results is based on the time and day that the search query is sent.

31. The system of claim 19 , wherein at least one search result in the list of one or more search results is an Internet website.

32. The system of claim 19 , wherein the association of the at least one search result with the corresponding location code is based on one or more location codes encoded in data associated with the search result.

33. The system of claim 19 , wherein the at least one search result is also associated with at least one demographic code associated with the communications device, and wherein the at least one demographic code associated with the communications device is based on one or more of an annual income of the communications device user, a vehicle owned by the communications device user, an Internet search history of the communications device user, and/or a purchase history of the communications device user.

34. The system of claim 19 , wherein the indication of the geographic position of the communications device is based on Global Positioning System coordinates.
