Lock-in training method utilizing the entry of a portion of a keyword
A method that is performed by a computer system that includes a keyboard and a computer display. The method includes retrieving a keyword and displaying, on the computer display, a question and a partial answer to the question. The partial answer to the question does not include the keyword. However, the partial answer does indicate the location of the keyword in the partial answer. The method also includes receiving a character that was entered into the keyboard by a user and comparing the character to the first character in the keyword. If the character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, the computer system does not display the character on the computer display. However, if the character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then the computer system displays the keyword on the computer display.
1 . A method, performed by a computer system including a keyboard and a computer display, the method comprising:
retrieving a keyword;
displaying, on the computer display, a question and a partial answer to the question, the partial answer to the question not including the keyword, the partial answer indicating the location of the keyword in the partial answer;
receiving a character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the character to the first character in the keyword;
if the character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then not displaying the character on the computer display; and
if the character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying the keyword on the computer display.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the keyword is displayed in the indicated location in the partial answer.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first font and the keyword is displayed in a second font.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first color and the keyword is displayed in a second color.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
if the character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the character is not the first character in the keyword on the computer display.
6 . A method, performed by a computer system including a keyboard and a computer display, the method comprising:
retrieving a first keyword and a second keyword;
displaying, on the computer display, a question and a partial answer to the question, the partial answer to the question not including the first keyword or the second keyword, the partial answer indicating the location of the first keyword in the partial answer and the location of the second keyword in the partial answer;
receiving a first character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the first character to the first character in the first keyword;
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the first keyword, then not displaying the first character on the computer display;
if the first character is equal to the first character in the first keyword, then displaying the first keyword on the computer display;
receiving a second character that was entered into the keyboard by the user;
comparing the second character to the first character in the second keyword;
if the second character is not equal to the first character in the second keyword, then not displaying the second character on the computer display; and
if the second character is equal to the first character in the second keyword, then displaying the second keyword on the computer display.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first keyword is displayed in the indicated location of the first keyword in the partial answer.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first font and the first keyword is displayed in a second font.
9 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first color and the keyword is displayed in a second color.
10 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the first keyword is displayed in the indicated location of the first keyword in the partial answer and the second keyword is displayed in the indicated location of the second keyword in the partial answer.
11 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the first keyword, then displaying an indication that the first character is not the first character in the first keyword on the computer display.
12 . A method, performed by a computer system including a keyboard and a computer display, the method comprising:
retrieving a keyword;
displaying, on the computer display, a question and a partial answer to the question, the partial answer to the question not including the keyword, the partial answer indicating the location of the keyword in the partial answer;
receiving a first character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the first character to the first character in the keyword;
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then not displaying the first character on the computer display;
if the first character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying the first character on the computer display;
receiving a second character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the second character to the second character in the keyword;
if the second character is not equal to the second character in the keyword, then not displaying the second character on the computer display; and
if the second character is equal to the second character in the keyword, then displaying the remainder of the keyword on the computer display.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the keyword is displayed in the indicated location in the partial answer.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first font and the keyword is displayed in a second font.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first color and the keyword is displayed in a second color.
16 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the first character is not the first character in the keyword on the computer display.
17 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
if the second character is not equal to the second character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the second character is not the second character in the keyword on the computer display.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the indication is an error message.
19 . A method, performed by a computer system including a keyboard and a computer display, the method comprising:
retrieving a keyword;
displaying, on the computer display, a question and a partial answer to the question, the partial answer to the question not including the keyword, the partial answer indicating the location of the keyword in the partial answer;
receiving a first character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the first character to the first character in the keyword;
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then not displaying the first character on the computer display;
if the first character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying the first character on the computer display;
receiving a second character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the second character to the second character in the keyword;
if the second character is not equal to the second character in the keyword, then not displaying the second character on the computer display;
if the second character is equal to the second character in the keyword, then displaying the second character on the computer display.
receiving a third character that was entered into the keyboard by a user;
comparing the third character to the third character in the keyword;
if the third character is not equal to the third character in the keyword, then not displaying the third character on the computer display; and
if the third character is equal to the third character in the keyword, then displaying the remainder of the keyword on the computer display.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the keyword is displayed in the indicated location in the partial answer.
21 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first font and the keyword is displayed in a second font.
22 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the partial answer is displayed in a first color and the keyword is displayed in a second color.
23 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
if the first character is not equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the first character is not the first character in the keyword on the computer display.
24 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
if the second character is not equal to the second character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the second character is not the second character in the keyword on the computer display.
25 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising:
if the third character is not equal to the third character in the keyword, then displaying an indication that the third character is not the third character in the keyword on the computer display.
26 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising, if the character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying a second keyword on the computer display.
27 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising, if the first character is equal to the first character in the keyword, then displaying the second keyword on the computer display.
