Abstract

A cleaning apparatus including a support with a plurality of conventional bristles inter dispersed with a plurality of bristles with an absorbent tip is provided. The bristles with absorbent tips preferably comprise cotton swabs mounted on a stick that is received in pocket holes on the support. A wipe in the form of a sheet or scrim may optionally be mounted over both sets of bristles. The sheet may be a fabric sheet, such as a non-woven fabric, which is dry and fluid absorbent or pre-moistened with a cleaning, deodorizing, medicament or other cleaning or grooming solutions for application to human or animal hair.

Claims (40)

1 . A cleaning apparatus comprising:

a brush including a handle and a support;

a plurality of bristles bristles carried on and extending from the brush support;

wherein at least some of said bristles comprise swab tipped elements.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1; wherein:

the handle has an interior chamber adapted for receiving a dispensable media; and

discharge means is carried on the handle for discharging the media from the interior chamber.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the discharge means comprises:

a pump for discharging the media from the interior chamber in the handle through a discharge outlet carried on the plunger.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each said swab-tipped element comprises a stick portion and a swab portion.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further including a mat disposed about said support.

6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein said bristles are attached and extend from said mat.

7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein each said bristle element is received in a pocket hole formed in said mat.

8 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein said swab portion is made of an absorbent material.

9 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein said swab portion contains a hair, skin and/or scalp treatment material.

10 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein said stick portion comprises a tubular core.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein said stick portion of at least some of said swab elements receives a bristle element depending from the brush support.

12 . The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein each said support element element is tubular for defining a passage therethrough that is in fluid communication with an interior chamber of said brush support.

13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein said handle of said brush is selectively squeezable for urging discharge through said bristle element passages of a dispensable media stored in said interior chamber.

14 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:

a sheet or wipe disposed over the bristles.

15 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe is dry and absorbent.

16 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe is pre-moistened.

17 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe is dry and treated with a water activated material.

18 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe carries a cleaning medium.

19 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe carries a deodorizing medium.

20 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe carries a medicament.

21 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein:

the sheet or wipe carries a conditioning medium.

22 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the sheet or wipe comprises:

a non-woven fabric sheet.

23 . The apparatus of claim 6 , further including a sheet mountable over the mat.

24 . The apparatus of claim 20 , wherein said medicament is selected from the group consisting of a flea treatment and a tick treatment.

25 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein said mat is removably disposed about said support.
