Hierarchically organizing logical trunk groups in a packet-based network
Described are methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for hierarchically organizing logical trunk groups in a packet-based network. A first hierarchical group includes a first logical trunk group that is associated with a first trunk resource parameter. The first hierarchical group is associated with a group resource parameter, a portion of which is based on the trunk resource parameter. Data associated with a telephone call is associated with a logical trunk group. Transmission of the data through a packet-based network is based in part on the group resource parameter.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a second module adapted to determine a performance statistic associated with at least one of the call data, packet-based network, the first logical trunk group, the first hierarchical group, or any combination thereof, wherein the data is transmitted through the packet-based network based in part on the performance statistic.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the performance statistic is determined according to a PSTN standard.

10 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a hierarchical combination including the first hierarchical group, the combination associated with a combination resource parameter, wherein the module is adapted to control transmission of the data through the packet-based network based in part on the combination resource parameter.
11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first trunk resource parameter, the first group resource parameter, or any combination thereof comprises a scalar parameter, a vector parameter, an operational state parameter, or any combination thereof.
12 . A method comprising:
associating a first trunk resource parameter with a first logical trunk group associated with a set of pathways through a packet-based network;
associating a first group resource parameter with a first hierarchical group, the first hierarchical group including the first logical trunk group, wherein a portion of the first group resource parameter is based on the first trunk resource parameter; and
