Abstract

Sublimable pad-printing ink and a method of marking an object with the ink, wherein the ink includes a hardening transparent pad-printing ink base and at least one sublimable colored pigment. The hardening transparent pad-printing ink base resists a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment. The method includes pad-printing the object with a marking that includes a monochrome or polychrome marking composition having at least one monocolor pigmented component including fine particles of at least one sublimable monocolor colored pigment and heating at least one of the object and the pad-printed marking composition.

Claims (40)

1. A sublimable pad-printing ink comprising:

a hardening transparent pad-printing ink base; and

at least one sublimable colored pigment,

wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base resists a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment.

2. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base has a hardening temperature lower than a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment.

3. The ink of claim 2 , wherein the curing or hardening temperature is adapted to permit a beginning of a phase of progressive curing of an ink film prior to beginning a sublimation of the at least one sublimable colored pigment.

4. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink is adapted to be used to mark an object.

5. The ink of claim 1 , further comprising a thinner.

6. The ink of claim 2 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base lacks any additional hardening agent.

7. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base has a hardening temperature in the range of between approximately 60° C. and approximately 100° C.

8. The ink of claim 7 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base has a hardening temperature of approximately 80° C.

9. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink is mainly comprised of one or more acrylic compounds.

10. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink comprises a mixture of the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base and particles of the at least one sublimable colored pigment.

11. The ink of claim 10 , wherein the mixture includes a thinner.

12. The ink of claim 10 , wherein the mixture includes particles of the at least one sublimable colored pigment which are dispersed without binder.

13. The ink of claim 10 , wherein the mixture lacks a binder.

14. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sublimable colored pigment comprises a dried pigment.

15. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sublimable colored pigment comprises a concentration in the range of between approximately 4% and approximately 20% by weight of a final product.

16. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink is mainly comprised of the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base.

17. The ink of claim 1 , further comprising a thinner in a concentration of between approximately 10% and approximately 25% by weight of a final product.

18. The ink of claim 1 , further comprising a mixture of monocolor sublimable pigmented component that includes fine particles of the at least one sublimable colored pigment dispersed in a liquid binder.

19. The ink of claim 18 , wherein the mixture includes a thinner.

20. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sublimable colored pigment of the sublimable pad-printing ink is adapted to be used for offset printing of sublimation tracing papers or transfers.

21. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sublimable colored pigment of the sublimable pad-printing ink is adapted to be used for screen printing of sublimation tracing papers or transfers.

22. The ink of claim 18 , wherein a concentration of the monocolor sublimable pigmented component that includes the fine particles of the at least one sublimable colored pigment dispersed in the liquid binder is in the range of between approximately 20% and approximately 40% by weight of a final product.

23. The ink of claim 22 , wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink is mainly comprised of the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base and a thinner in a concentration of between approximately 10% and approximately 30% by weight of the final product.

24. The ink of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additive or filler that provides non-slip and/or gloss attenuation properties.

25. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base comprises at least one additive or filler that provides non-slip and/or gloss attenuation properties to the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base.

26. The ink of claim 1 , further comprising at least one hardening component made of a curable material.

27. The ink of claim 1 , wherein the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base comprises at least one hardening component made of a curable material.

28. A sublimable pad-printing ink comprising:

a hardening transparent pad-printing ink base;

at least one sublimable colored pigment;

the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base resisting a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment and having a curing or hardening temperature approximately lower than a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment,

wherein the sublimable pad-printing ink is adapted to be used to mark an object.

29. A sublimable pad-printing ink comprising:

a hardening transparent pad-printing ink base;

at least one sublimable colored pigment; and

the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base resisting a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment and having a curing or hardening temperature that is lower than a sublimation temperature of the at least one sublimable colored pigment,

wherein, during heating of the sublimable pad-printing ink, the hardening transparent pad-printing ink base is structured and arranged to progressively cure prior to sublimation of fine particles of the at least one sublimable colored pigment.
