Abstract

An ink composition for ink jet recording, comprising: a dispersion medium; and a charged particle comprising a coloring material, wherein the ink composition comprises at least one basic carbon black as the coloring material.

Claims (16)

1 . An ink composition for ink jet recording, comprising:

a dispersion medium; and

a charged particle comprising a coloring material,

wherein the ink composition comprises at least one basic carbon black as the coloring material.

2 . The ink composition for ink jet recording as claimed in claim 1 ,

wherein the basic carbon black is basic carbon black obtained by decreasing carboxyl groups on the surface of carbon black by surface treatment.

3 . The ink composition for ink jet recording as claimed in claim 1 ,

wherein the charged particle further comprises a covering agent that covers the coloring material.

4 . The ink composition for ink jet recording as claimed in claim 3 ,

wherein the covering agent is a polymer comprising at least any one of the constitutional units represented by formulae (1) to (4):

wherein, X 11 represents an oxygen atom or —N(R 13 )—; R 11 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R 12 represents a hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms; R 13 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms; R 21 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and R 31 , R 32 and R 41 each independently represents a divalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms.

5 . The ink composition for ink jet recording as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a dispersant.

6 . The ink composition for ink jet recording as claimed in claim 5 ,

wherein the dispersant is a graft polymer a main chain portion and a side chain portion of a graft chain, the main chain portion comprising at least one of an acidic group and a salt obtained by neutralizing the acidic group.

7 . An ink jet recording method comprising

ejecting ink droplets by an ink jet recording system utilizing electrostatic field with the ink composition as claimed in claim 1.
