Publishing data in an information community
View Patent ↗A system and method for publishing information to a community of users is disclosed. Published information is inclusive of, for example, calendar data, blog data and photographs. Communities may be defined by PIM data or automatically generated by a data aggregation server in response to a user-defined rubric. Published information may be provided to a recipient or in conjunction with a notification delivered to the recipient. Published data may be subject to certain read/write limitations.
1. A system for disseminating information, the system, comprising:
a first computing device, when in operation, detects that a user has updated information including updated content;
an intermediate computing device communicatively coupled to the first computing device,
wherein, in operation, the intermediate computing device hosts a user profile associated with the user of the first computing device and identifies a targeted recipient based on the user profile of the user;
wherein, the updated information including the updated content is automatically disseminated from the first computing device to the targeted recipient, without the user specifying the targeted recipient to whom the updated content is disseminated.
2. The system of claim 1 , wherein, the updated information is automatically pushed to the targeted recipient for access via a second device of the targeted recipient, directly from the first computing device bypassing the intermediate computing device.
3. The system of claim 1 , wherein, a notification of an availability of the updated content is sent to the targeted recipient for bandwidth consumption heavy content including media content.
4. The system of claim 1 , wherein, the targeted recipient is able to comment on the updated content of the user using a second device.
5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the targeted recipient has write access of the updated content using a second device.
6. A method for disseminating information of a first user from a first mobile device, the method comprising:
detecting at the first mobile device, that the first user has published information including updated content;
identifying a targeted recipient in a community of users based on relationship data;
automatically pushing the updated content of the first user to the targeted recipient for access via a second mobile device of the targeted recipient,
wherein, the updated content is delivered without the first user specifying the targeted recipient to whom the updated content is pushed;
wherein the targeted recipient has write access of the updated content using the second mobile device.
7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising, sending a notification of an availability of the updated content to the targeted recipient.
8. The method of claim 6 , wherein, the targeted recipient is identified based on a request of delivery of updated content from the first user.
9. The method of claim 7 , wherein, the notification is sent via an SMS message.
10. The method of claim 6 , wherein, the updated content includes calendar data.
11. The method of claim 6 , wherein the updated content includes media content including photographs.
12. The method of claim 6 , wherein the write access of the targeted recipient is granted based on membership of the targeted recipient in a group with requirements set forth by the first user.
13. The method of claim 6 , wherein, the targeted recipient is further able to comment on the updated content of the first user using the second mobile device.
14. The method of claim 6 , wherein, the targeted recipient is further able to post a response to the updated content of the first user using the second mobile device.
15. A method for disseminating information of a first user to a community of users, the method comprising:
detecting at a first mobile device, that a first user has published information including updated content;
identifying a targeted recipient in the community of users based on relationship data,
automatically pushing the updated content of the first user to the targeted recipient for access via a second mobile device of the targeted recipient,
wherein, the updated content is pushed to the target recipient, without the first user explicitly specifying the targeted recipient to whom the updated content is pushed;
wherein, the targeted recipient is able to post a response to the updated content of the first user using the second mobile device.
16. The method of claim 15 , wherein, the targeted recipient is identified by an intermediate server; wherein, the intermediate server hosts a user profile of the first user and identifies the targeted recipient based on the user profile.
17. The method of claim 15 , wherein the targeted recipient has write access of the updated content using the second mobile device.
18. The method of claim 15 , wherein, the targeted recipient is identified based on a request by the targeted recipient for delivery of the updated content from the first user.
19. The method of claim 15 , wherein, the targeted recipient is able to comment on the updated content of the first user using the second mobile device.
20. The method of claim 16 , wherein, the updated content is pushed directly from the first mobile device to the second mobile device of the targeted recipient, by passing the intermediate server.
