Abstract

Mechanical transmission for aeronautical applications, in which a kinematic chain housed inside a leakproof casing has a main power input shaft actuated by a thermal propulsion unit and a secondary power input shaft which can be actuated externally by means of a rotating head which can be coupled to the secondary shaft in a releasable manner by means of a magnetic assembly so as to allow rotation of the secondary shaft at low speed and when the main propulsion unit is inactive.

Claims (10)

1 . A low-speed mechanical transmission to power a main power input shaft able to be actuated by a main propulsion unit and a secondary power input shaft housed inside an external casing; an auxiliary actuating assembly releasably coupled to the secondary shaft and arranged to rotate the secondary shaft when the main propulsion unit is inactive, the auxiliary actuating assembly comprising an external actuating head and an angular coupling operating between the actuating head and the secondary shaft the angular coupling comprising a first magnetic device coupled to the secondary shaft in an angularly fixed position, and a second magnetic device mounted on the external actuating head.

2 . The transmission according to claim 1 , further comprising a cover positioned between the secondary shaft and the actuating head to close the casing in a fluid-tight manner during actuation of the secondary shaft by the operation of the external actuating head.

3 . The transmission according to claim 1 wherein the first and second magnetic devices are positioned so as to be in diametrically opposite locations.

4 . The transmission according to claim 2 , wherein the external head is removably coupled to the cover.

5 . The transmission according to claim 4 , wherein the cover includes a cylindrical portion projecting from the external casing.

6 . The transmission according to claim 5 , wherein the cylindrical portion is a removable portion.

7 . The transmission according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second magnetic devices respectively comprise at least one first magnet and at least one second magnet which at least partially face one another.

8 . The transmission according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second magnetic devices comprise a first ring and a second ring of magnets, respectively, which are arranged coaxially with respect to each other, and one of the first and second ring of magnets being positioned at least partially inside the other one.

9 . The transmission according to claim 8 , wherein the first ring of magnets is permanently inserted inside an annular support body integrally connected to one end of the secondary shaft and the second ring of magnets is permanently inserted inside a housing of the external actuating head.

10 . The transmission according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second magnetic devices comprise permanent magnets.
