Abstract

A transmission device for driving a name card to pass over a contact image sensor (CIS) comprises: a loading deck provided with a central recess and a correction slip attached to a bottom face at the front end thereof: a first gear set for driving the loading deck: a second gear set fixed oppositely on the same gear shaft of the first gear set for driving the loading deck: and a motor for driving the first gear set.

18 . A method comprising:

capturing an image of an object;

translating said object relative to a contact image sensor;

loading said object onto a loading deck comprising a recess and two lateral sides;

passing a loading deck over said contact image sensor;

engaging at least one first gear with the at least one gear engagement feature formed on the loading deck; and

driving the at least one gear.

19 . The method of claim 18 , and further comprising engaging at least one second gear with the at least one gear engagement feature formed on the loading deck.

20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said at least one gear engagement feature further comprises at least one slot.

21 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said at least one gear engagement feature further comprises as least one gear bar.

22 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said at least one gear engagement feature further comprises at least one beveled gear bar.

23 . The method of claim 18 , and further comprising engaging at least one gear with a stud comprising at least one gear engagement feature.

24 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said first at least one gear is beveled.

25 . The method of claim 18 , wherein said recess is adapted to load a name card.

26 . A method comprising:

capturing an image of an object;

translating said object relative to a contact image sensor;

loading said object onto a loading deck comprising a recess and two lateral sides;

passing a loading deck over said contact image sensor

engaging at least one first gear with the at least one gear engagement feature formed on the loading deck;

supporting the loading deck with a support; and

driving the first at least one gear.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein said support comprises a wheel.

28 . The method of claim 26 , wherein said recess is adapted to load a name card.

29 . The method of claim 26 , and further comprising engaging said at least one gear with at least one gear engagement feature.

30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein said gear engagement feature comprises at least one slot.

31 . The method of claim 29 , wherein said gear engagement feature comprises at least one gear bar.

32 . The method of claim 26 , and further comprising engaging a rail with said support.
