Abstract

This invention provides for human interferon-α which includes novel glycosylation structures.

Claims (26)

1. A composition comprising interferon-α wherein the interferon is glycosylated with

wherein Gal=Galactose,

NAcGlu=N-Acetyl-Glucosamine, and

NAcGal=N-Acetyl-Galactosamine.

2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the composition is a pharmaceutical composition.

3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the interferon is interferon α2.

4. The composition of claim 1 wherein the interferon is interferon α2b.

5. The composition of claim 1 wherein the glycosylation is O-linked.

6. The composition of claim 1 wherein the interferon comprises SEQ ID NO: 30.

7. A composition comprising interferon-α wherein the interferon is glycosylated with Gal-Gal-NAcGal-,

wherein Gal=Galactose, and

NAcGal=N-Acetyl-Galactosamine.

8. The composition of claim 7 wherein the composition is a pharmaceutical composition.

9. The composition of claim 7 wherein the interferon is interferon α2.

10. The composition of claim 7 wherein the interferon is interferon α2b.

11. The composition of claim 7 wherein the glycosylation is O-linked.

12. The composition of claim 7 wherein the interferon comprises SEQ ID NO: 30.

13. A composition comprising interferon-α wherein the interferon is glycosylated with

wherein Gal=Galactose,

NAcGal=N-Acetyl-Galactosamine, and

SA=Sialic Acid.

14. The composition of claim 13 wherein the composition is a pharmaceutical composition.

15. The composition of claim 13 wherein the interferon is interferon α2.

16. The composition of claim 13 wherein the interferon is interferon α2b.

17. The composition of claim 13 wherein the glycosylation is O-linked.

18. The composition of claim 13 wherein the interferon comprises SEQ ID NO: 30.
