Abstract

An optical recording medium which comprises a print-receiving layer as the outermost layer on the side opposite to the light incidence side, wherein a pattern is formed on the print-receiving layer.

Claims (17)

1. An optical recording medium comprising a print-receiving layer and a light incidence side,

wherein the print-receiving layer is an outermost layer on a side opposite to the light incidence side,

wherein the print-receiving layer is made of at least a first cured colored resin and a second cured colored resin, wherein the first and the second cured colored resins have different colors, and

wherein the surface of the print-receiving layer has at least a first print-receiving area and a second print-receiving area, wherein the first print-receiving area and the second print-receiving area are made of the first cured colored resin and the second cured colored resin, respectively.

2. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , wherein the first print-receiving area and the second print-receiving area form a colored pattern having an XYZ color system chromaticity coordinate (x,y) of reflected light to satisfy formula (1):

( x −0.32) 2 +( y −0.32) 2 ≦0.015  (1).

3. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , wherein the XYZ color system chromaticity coordinates (x 1 ,y 1 ) and (x 2 ,y 2 ) of reflected light at the first print-receiving area and the second print-receiving area of the print-receiving layer satisfy formula (2):

( x 1 −x 2 ) 2 +( y 1 −y 2 ) 2 ≦0.012  (2).

4. The optical recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein the XYZ color system chromaticity coordinate (x,y) of reflected light at the first print-receiving area on the print-receiving layer satisfies the formula (1), and the XYZ color system chromaticity coordinates (x 1 ,y 1 ) and (x 2 ,y 2 ) of reflected light at the second print-receiving area satisfies the formula (2):

( x −0.32) 2 +( y −0.32) 2 ≦0.015  (1)

( x 1 −x 2 ) 2 +( y 1 −y 2 ) 2 ≦0.012  (2).

5. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , wherein the print-receiving layer is printable with a water base ink by means of an ink jet printer.

6. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , wherein the print-receiving layer contains fine particles having an average particle size of at most 200 nm and a cation resin, and is printable with a water base ink by means of an ink jet printer.

7. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , wherein the print-receiving layer further comprises from 30 to 50 wt % of fine particles of an inorganic substance.

8. The optical recording medium of claim 1 , further comprising:

a subsidiary layer under the print-receiving layer,

wherein the both the first and the second cured colored resins are in direct contact with the subsidiary layer.
