Abstract

Various switchable RFID devices are disclosed. These switchable RFID devices may include one or more RFID tags and one or more switches. In various embodiments, the switchable RFID devices include identity devices, financial devices, remote controls, and the like. In some embodiments switches are configured to enter data into a switchable RFID device, for example to select a financial account.

Claims (31)

1 . An integrated circuit comprising:

an output configured to send first data to an antenna;

a power circuit configured to generate power from a wireless signal;

a first switch input configured for determining a state of a first switch;

a second switch input configured for determining a state of a second switch; and

a logic circuit configured for generating the first data responsive to the state of the first switch and the state of the second switch, using the power.

2 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit includes a single RFID tag.

3 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit includes a plurality of RIFD tags.

4 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , further including an input configured to receive second data from the antenna, the logic circuit being further configured for generating the first data responsive to the second data.

5 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , further including a memory, wherein the logic is further configured to compare the state of the first switch with contents of the memory.

6 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , further including a memory, wherein the logic is further configured to read third data from the memory responsive to the state of the first switch.

7 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the first switch input and the second switch input are further configured to receive a personal identification number or a password.

8 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the second switch input is further configured for selecting a financial account.

9 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit is configured to be moved between devices.

10 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit is configured to be included within a remote control.

11 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit is configured to be included within a financial device.

12 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the integrated circuit is configured to be disposed at least partially within a spacer of a membrane switch.

13 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the wireless signal is an inductive signal.

14 . The integrated circuit of claim 1 , wherein the wireless signal is an RF signal.

15 . A method comprising:

generating power from a wireless signal;

determining a state of a plurality of switches;

generating an RF signal using the power, the RF signal including first data responsive to the state of the plurality of switches; and

sending the RF signal using the power.

16 . The method of claim 15 , further including receiving second data wirelessly, the first data being further responsive to the second data.

17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the state of the plurality of switches is representative of a personal identification number or password.

18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the state of the plurality of switches is associated with a financial account.

19 . The method of claim 15 , further including changing from a programming mode to a non-programming mode responsive to a state of at least one of the plurality of switches.

20 . An RFID device comprising:

a passive RFID tag configured to output a first wireless signal in a first responsive mode and to output a different wireless signal in a second responsive mode; and

one or more mechanical switch configured to change the passive RFID tag from the first responsive mode to the second responsive mode.
