MOBILE SEARCH SERVICE INSTANT ACTIVATION
In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for providing a user interface that simultaneously presents and activates a search box concurrently with activating a phone.
1 . A method of activating a mobile search service comprising:
providing a user interface that simultaneously presents and activates a search box concurrently with activating a phone.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface is associated with a display of a phone.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the phone is a cellular phone.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the search box is a wireless carrier's walled garden content search box.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the search vertical is general search.

39 . The method of claim 1 , wherein activation of the search box does not require an additional menu selection.
40 . The method of claim 1 , wherein activation of the search box does not require an additional button selection.
41 . The method of claim 1 , wherein activation of the search box is substantially instantaneous.
42 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the activation of the phone comprises turning it on.
43 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the activation of the phone is opening a folding phone.
44 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the activation of the phone is a screensaver trigger.
45 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the activation of the phone is an action that turns off a screensaver.
46 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of concurrently activating the phone and search box comprises activating them substantially at the same time.
47 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of concurrently activating the phone and the search box comprises activating them in close temporal proximity.
48 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of concurrently activating the phone and the search box comprises activating them within 5 seconds of one another.
49 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the presentation of the search box is in conjunction with another user interface feature of the phone.
50 . A system for activating a mobile search service comprising:
a user interface associated with a phone that simultaneously presents and activates a search box concurrently with activating the phone.
