5. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl, or anthryl, optionally substituted by at least one alkyl group, wherein the alkyl group is methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl, heptyl, octyl, nonyl, decyl, undecyl, dodecyl, tridecyl, tetradecyl, pentadecyl, heptadecyl, or octadecyl.

6. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl, or anthryl, optionally substituted with at least one aryl group, wherein the aryl group is phenyl, methylphenyl, ethylphenyl, propylphenyl, butylphenyl, pentylphenyl, hexylphenyl, heptylphenyl, octylphenyl, nonylphenyl, decylphenyl, undecylphenyl, dodecylphenyl, tridecylphenyl, tetradecylphenyl, pentadecylphenyl, heptadecylphenyl, or octadecylphenyl.

7. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl, or anthryl, optionally substituted by at least one heteroatom containing group, and wherein the heteroatom containing group is nitro, cyano, alkoxy with from 1 to about 18 carbon atoms, trialkylsilyl with from about 3 to about 36 carbon atoms, and triarylsilyl with from about 18 to about 36 carbon atoms.

8. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl, or anthryl, substituted by one, two, or more halogens, and the halogen is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, or iodine.

9. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein said Ar is thienyl, furanyl, pyridinyl, oxazoyl, pyrroyl, triazinyl, imidazoyl, pyrimidinyl, pyrazinyl, oxadiazoyl, pyrazoyl, triazoyl, thiazoyl, thiadiazoyl, quinolinyl, quinazolinyl, naphthyridinyl, or carbazoyl, optionally substituted by at least one group of a hydrocarbon with 1 to about 36 carbon atoms, a hetero containing group with zero to about 36 carbon atoms, or a halogen.

10. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is thienyl, furanyl, pyridinyl, oxazoyl, pyrroyl, triazinyl, imidazoyl, pyrimidinyl, pyrazinyl, oxadiazoyl, pyrazoyl, triazoyl, thiazoyl, thiadiazoyl, quinolinyl, quinazolinyl, naphthyridinyl, or carbazoyl, optionally substituted by at least one, two, or more hydrocarbon groups, and wherein the hydrocarbon is an alkyl of methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl, heptyl, octyl, nonyl, decyl, undecyl, dodecyl, tridecyl, tetradecyl, pentadecyl, heptadecyl, or octadecyl.

11. A homopolymer in accordance with claim 1 wherein Ar is thienyl, furanyl, pyridinyl, oxazoyl, pyrroyl, triazinyl, imidazoyl, pyrimidinyl, pyrazinyl, oxadiazoyl, pyrazoyl, triazoyl, thiazoyl, thiadiazoyl, quinolinyl, quinazolinyl, naphthyridinyl, or carbazoyl, substituted by at least one hydrocarbon group, and wherein the hydrocarbon group is phenyl, methylpheyl (tolyl), ethylphenyl, propylphenyl, butylphenyl, pentylphenyl, hexylphenyl, heptylphenyl, octylphenyl, nonylphenyl, decylphenyl, undecylphenyl, dodecylphenyl, tridecylphenyl, tetradecylphenyl, pentadecylphenyl, heptadecylphenyl, or octadecylphenyl.
