Systems and Methods Providing Reusable Test Logic
Systems and methods for a design and runtime environment provide polymorphic test elements that may be used within an automated test procedure. The polymorphic test elements may include navigation maps, test verbs, or component templates.
1 . A method comprising:
receiving an automated test procedure including a reference to a polymorphic test element;
determining a context for the reference;
selecting an instance of the polymorphic test element in accordance with the context.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the polymorphic test element comprises a navigation map.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the polymorphic test element comprises a test verb.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the context comprises one or more of a platform type, a platform group or a platform role.
5 . A method comprising:
creating a polymorphic test element for an automated test procedure;
associating the polymorphic test element with a first context and a second context;
creating a first instance of the polymorphic test element for the first context and creating a second instance of the polymorphic test element for the second context.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the polymorphic test element comprises a navigation map.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the polymorphic test element comprises a test verb.
8 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the context comprises one or more of a platform type, a platform group or a platform role.
