Abstract

According to some embodiments, systems, apparatus, methods, and articles of manufacture may provide for improved health care compliance. Embodiments may comprise, for example, identifying an occurrence of an event associated with the taking of a substance by a patient, determining output information associated with a game, and providing the output information to the patient. Some embodiments may comprise receiving a code associated with a patient, wherein the code includes encoded information that is indicative of an occurrence of an event associated with the taking of a substance by a patient, decoding the code to determine the information, determining whether the occurrence of the event is compliant with a condition associated with the taking of the substance, and providing, in the case that compliance with the condition is determined, one or more rewards to the patient.

45 . A method, comprising:

identifying an occurrence of an event associated with a health care regimen of a patient;

determining that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with a condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient;

determining, based at least in part on the determining that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with a condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient, output information comprising an instruction for a device associated with the patient; and

transmitting the output information to the device associated with the patient.

46 . The method of claim 45 , wherein the instruction is operable to cause a change to a setting of the device associated with the patient.

47 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the device associated with the patient comprises a TV.

48 . The method of claim 47 , wherein the setting comprises one or more of (i) an on/off setting, (ii) a video input setting, and (iii) a V-chip setting.

49 . The method of claim 47 , wherein the instruction is operable to cause the change to the setting to block a TV program.

50 . The method of claim 47 , wherein the instruction is operable to cause the change to the setting to prevent a video game console from being played via the TV.

51 . The method of claim 46 , wherein the device associated with the patient comprises an exercise device.

52 . The method of claim 51 , wherein the instruction is operable to cause the change to the setting to conform the patient's use of the exercise device to the condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient.

53 . A medium storing instructions adapted to be executed by a processor to:

identify an occurrence of an event associated with a health care regimen of a patient;

determine that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with a condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient;

determine, based at least in part on the determining that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with the condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient, output information comprising an instruction for a device associated with the patient; and

transmit the output information to the device associated with the patient.

54 . A system, comprising:

a device associated with a patient; and

a health care compliance module in communication with the device associated with the patient, the health care compliance module, comprising:

a sensor operable to identify an occurrence of an event associated with a health care regimen of the patient;

a processing device operable to:

determine that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with a condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient; and

determine, based at least in part on the determining that the occurrence of the event is not compliant with the condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient, output information comprising an instruction for the device associated with the patient; and

an output device operable to transmit the output information to the device associated with the patient.

55 . The system of claim 54 , wherein the device associated with the patient is operable to change a setting based on a receiving of the output information.

56 . The system of claim 55 , wherein the device associated with the patient comprises a TV.

57 . The system of claim 56 , wherein the setting comprises one or more of (i) an on/off setting, (ii) a video input setting, and (iii) a V-chip setting.

58 . The system of claim 56 , wherein the device associated with the patient is operable to change the setting based on the receiving of the output information to block a TV program.

59 . The method of claim 56 , wherein the device associated with the patient is operable to change the setting based on the receiving of the output information to prevent a video game console from being played via the TV.

60 . The method of claim 55 , wherein the device associated with the patient comprises an exercise device.

61 . The method of claim 60 , wherein the device associated with the patient is operable to change the setting based on the receiving of the output information to conform the patient's use of the exercise device to the condition associated with the health care regimen of the patient.
