Abstract

There is provided a liquid crystal display device including a display screen comprised of a plurality of areas in each of which a pixel pattern is formed, wherein any two areas located adjacent to each other, among the areas, have at least two stitches therebetween.

Claims (29)

1. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising the step of:

in an area defining plural different color adjacent pixel rows, patterning each color pixel row in a separate light exposure by reposition a reticle to a new stitch position prior to each light exposure, wherein,

pixel rows of a first color are all patterned in a first light exposure with the reticle at a first stitch position and adjacent pixel rows of a second color are all patterned in a second light exposure with the reticle at a second stitch position, and

each stitch resulting from the first and second light exposures are located differently from each other;

wherein, three adjacent pixel rows of first, second, and third color pixels are patterned in three light exposures with only pixel rows of the first color being patterned in the first light exposure, only pixels of the second color being patterned in the second light exposure, and only pixels of the third color being patterned in a third light exposure with the reticle at a third stitch position.

2. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising the step of:

in an area defining plural different color adjacent pixel rows, patterning each color pixel row in a separate light exposure by reposition a reticle to a new stitch position prior to each light exposure, wherein,

pixel rows of a first color are all patterned in a first light exposure with the reticle at a first stitch position and adjacent pixel rows of a second color are all patterned in a second light exposure with the reticle at a second stitch position, and

each stitch resulting from the first and second light exposures are located differently from each other;

wherein, three adjacent pixel rows of first, second, and third color pixels are patterned in four light exposures with a third light exposure with the reticle at a third stitch position and a fourth light exposure with the reticle at a fourth stitch position.

3. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising the step of:

in an area defining plural different color adjacent pixel rows, patterning each color pixel row in a separate light exposure by reposition a reticle to a new stitch position prior to each light exposure, wherein,

pixel rows of a first color are all patterned in a first light exposure with the reticle at a first stitch position and adjacent pixel rows of a second color are all patterned in a second light exposure with the reticle at a second stitch position, and

each stitch resulting from the first and second light exposures are located differently from each other;

wherein, for each different color pixel row, a different light exposure is made at a different stitch location so that at least one light exposure is made for each color pixel with the reticle being repositioned to a new stitch location for each subsequent light exposure;

a first stepper projection alignment is carried out at a first stitch position for exposure of only red pixel rows,

a second stepper projection alignment is carried out at a second stitch position for exposure of only green pixel rows, and,

a third stepper projection alignment is carried out at a stitch position for exposure of only blue pixel rows, and

stepper projection alignment is carried out three times in an area of red, green, blue color adjacent pixel rows with resulting stitches located different from one another for each of red, green and blue color pixels.

4. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, comprising the step of:

in an area defining plural different color adjacent pixel rows, patterning each color pixel row in a separate light exposure by reposition a reticle to a new stitch position prior to each light exposure, wherein,

pixel rows of a first color are all patterned in a first light exposure with the reticle at a first stitch position and adjacent pixel rows of a second color are all patterned in a second light exposure with the reticle at a second stitch position, and

each stitch resulting from the first and second light exposures are located differently from each other

an area is divided into pixel row sets of four adjacent pixel rows,

a first stepper projection alignment is carried out at a first stitch location for a exposure of only a first pixel row of each pixel row set,

a second stepper projection alignment is carried out for a exposure of only a second pixel row of each pixel row set,

a third stepper projection alignment is carried out for exposure of only a third pixel row of each pixel row set,

a fourth stepper projection alignment is carried out for exposure of only a fourth pixel row of each pixel row set, and

four stitches resulting from the four exposures are located different from one another.
