Inkjet printhead having a pre-determined array of inkjet nozzle assemblies
View Patent ↗An inkjet printhead comprises a plurality of sets of inkjet nozzles. Each nozzle comprises a nozzle head from which ink can be ejected and an ink ejection actuator tail extending from the nozzle head. Each set comprises a first row of the nozzle heads and a second row of the nozzle heads with the ink ejection actuator tails being located between the rows.
1. An inkjet printhead comprising:
a substrate; and
a plurality of sets of inkjet nozzle assemblies positioned on the substrate, each nozzle assembly comprising a nozzle chamber structure from which ink can be ejected and an elongate ink ejection actuator extending from the nozzle chamber structure, each set comprising a first row of the nozzle chamber structures and a second row of the nozzle chamber structures with the ink ejection actuators being located between consecutive sets, wherein the sets are serially arranged across the substrate, and wherein adjacent rows of nozzles from adjacent sets collectively define an ink ejection pod, and wherein the printhead comprises a plurality of groups of pods with each group comprising pods serially arranged in a respective line.
2. An inkjet printhead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the ink ejection actuators are arranged to be parallel to each other.
3. An inkjet printhead as claimed in claim 2 , wherein each pair of adjacent ink ejection actuators extend from corresponding nozzle chamber structures of consecutive rows of respective sets.
4. An inkjet printhead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the nozzles in the first row are configured to eject a first type of ink and the nozzles in the second row are configured to eject a second type of ink.
5. An inkjet printhead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein adjacent pods in each group are offset with respect to each other so that each line is staggered.
