Abstract

A pixel structure has a substrate, and a first subpixel unit, a second subpixel unit, and a third subpixel unit disposed on the substrate. The first subpixel unit has three first subpixels arranged in a delta formation, the second subpixel unit has three second subpixels arranged in a delta formation, and the third subpixel unit has three third subpixels arranged in a delta formation. One first subpixel of the first subpixel unit, one second subpixel of the second subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit, and one third subpixel of the third subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit form a display pixel unit.

Claims (19)

1. A pixel structure for use in an electroluminescent panel comprising:

a substrate; and

a plurality of display pixel units disposed on the substrate, each display pixel unit comprising a first subpixel, a second subpixel, and a third subpixel,

wherein the first subpixel, the second subpixel, and the third subpixel are arranged in a delta formation, the first subpixel of each display pixel unit is adjacent to the first subpixels of two adjacent display pixel units, the second subpixel of each display pixel unit is adjacent to the second subpixels of two adjacent display pixel units, and the third subpixel of each display pixel unit is adjacent to the third subpixels of two adjacent display pixel units; and

wherein the first subpixel of each display pixel unit and the first subpixels of the two adjacent display pixel units are arranged in a delta formation, the second subpixel of each display pixel unit and the second subpixels of the two adjacent display pixel units are arranged in a delta formation, and the third subpixel of each display pixel unit and the third subpixels of the two adjacent display pixel units are arranged in a delta formation.

2. The pixel structure of claim 1 , wherein the first subpixel is a red subpixel.

3. The pixel structure of claim 1 , wherein the second subpixel is a green subpixel.

4. The pixel structure of claim 1 , wherein the third subpixel is a blue subpixel.

5. The pixel structure of claim 1 , wherein two adjacent display pixel units in the same row are arranged in inverted orientations.

6. A pixel structure comprising:

a substrate; and

a first subpixel unit, a second subpixel unit and a third subpixel unit, disposed on the substrate;

wherein the first subpixel unit comprises three first subpixels arranged in a delta formation, the second subpixel unit comprises three second subpixels arranged in a delta formation, and the third subpixel unit comprises three third subpixels arranged in a delta formation, and wherein one of the three first subpixels of the first subpixel unit, one of the three second subpixels of the second subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit, and one of the three third subpixels of the third subpixel unit adjacent to the first subpixel unit form a display pixel unit.

7. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein the first subpixel is a red subpixel.

8. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein the second subpixel is a green subpixel.

9. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein the third subpixel is a blue subpixel.

10. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein the first subpixel, the second subpixel and the third subpixel, forming the display pixel unit, are arranged in a delta formation.

11. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein each of the three first subpixels, the three second subpixels, and the three third subpixels comprises an organic light emitting diode (OLED).

12. The pixel structure of claim 6 , wherein each of the three first subpixels, the three second subpixels, the three third subpixels comprises a polymer light emitting diode (PLED).
