View Patent ↗A wipe-off unit is provided with a cleaning liquid ejection member in a manner to be positioned below a horizontal surface coincident with a nozzle surface and on a sheet feeding side relative to a pressing roller. A wiping sheet is fed from below to the pressing roller through a space between the pressing roller and the cleaning liquid ejection member, and a cleaning liquid is applied to a surface of the wiping sheet.
1. A wiping unit for a liquid droplet ejection head having:
a wipe-off unit having mounted thereon a pressing roller to press a wiping sheet to a nozzle surface of the liquid droplet ejection head; and
a sheet feeding unit for feeding the wiping sheet through the pressing roller such that the wipe-off unit is moved together with the sheet feeding unit while feeding the wiping sheet in a state in which the wiping sheet is pressed to the nozzle surface, thereby carrying out a wiping operation,
wherein the sheet feeding unit comprises: a supply reel having rolled thereabout the wiping sheet; a speed detection roller for feeding the wiping sheet supplied from the supply reel to the wipe-off unit; and a take-up reel for taking up the wiping sheet through the wipe-off unit.

The wiping unit according to claim 1 , wherein the sheet feeding unit further comprises: a guide roller for feeding the wiping sheet supplied from the supply reel to the pressing roller; and a pinch roller which is disposed along a bottom side of the pressing roller so as to hold the wiping sheet between the pressing roller and the pinch roller.
