Polyolefin resin composition, method of inhibiting generation of gel from the same, support for image recording material and method of producing the same
There provides a polyolefin resin composition comprising a secondary antioxidant and substantially not including a primary antioxidant as an antioxidant, a method of inhibiting the generation of gel from the polyolefin resin composition, a support for an image recording material which is used to produce an image forming material and a method of producing the support.
1 . A polyolefin resin composition comprising a secondary antioxidant and substantially not including a primary antioxidant as an antioxidant.
2 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 1 , comprising at least high-density polyethylene, wherein the secondary antioxidant is included in the high-density polyethylene.
3 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 2 , wherein the high-density polyethylene is obtained by polymerization using a catalyst, and the resin composition further comprises a hydrotalcite compound as a catalyst deactivating agent for the catalyst.
4 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 3 , wherein the content of the hydrotalcite compound in the high-density polyethylene is 100 to 2,000 ppm based on the high-density polyethylene.
5 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 1 , wherein the secondary antioxidant is a phosphorous antioxidant.
6 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 2 , wherein the secondary antioxidant is a phosphorous antioxidant.
7 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 3 , wherein the secondary antioxidant is a phosphorous antioxidant.
8 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 5 , wherein the phosphorous antioxidant is represented by the following formula (I):
wherein R′ 1 , R′ 2 and R′ 3 respectively represent an alkyl group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and is substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, —COOR′ 4 , —CN or —CONR′ 4 R′ 4 ; an alkyl group which has 2 to 18 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O—or —NR′ 4 -; a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group which are substituted with a halogen atom or 1 to 3 alkyl groups or alkoxy groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms in total; a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group; an N-aryl, N-benzyl- or N-alkyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkanoyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkylene-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group or an N-alkylene-4-alkoxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms at the alkylene part or having 1 to 18 carbon atoms at the alkoxy part; and each R′ 4 respectively represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms or a phenylalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part.
9 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 5 , wherein the phosphorous antioxidant is represented by the following formula (II):
wherein R′ 1 , R′ 2 and R′ 3 respectively represent an alkyl group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and is substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, —COOR′ 4 , —CN or —CONR′ 4 R′ 4 ; an alkyl group which has 2 to 18 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O—or —NR′ 4 -; a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group which are substituted with a halogen atom or 1 to 3 alkyl groups or alkoxy groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms in total; a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group; an N-aryl, N-benzyl- or N-alkyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkanoyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkylene-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group or an N-alkylene-4-alkoxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms at the alkylene part or having 1 to 18 carbon atoms at the alkoxy part; each R′ 4 respectively represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms or a phenylalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part; and n′ denotes an integer of 2, 3 or 4, wherein A′ represents an alkylene group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, an alkylene group which has 2 to 12 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O—or —NR′ 4 - or the following group when n′ denotes an integer of 2; and A′ represents —C r H 2r-1 or N(CH 2 CH 2 -) 3 when n′ denotes an integer of 3; r denotes an integer of 5 or 6; and A′ represents N(CH 2 -) 4 when n′ denotes an integer of 4:
wherein R′ 5 and R′ 6 respectively represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms; and B represents —CHR′ 4 -, —CR′ 1 R′ 4 -, —CH 2 -, —S— or a single bond.
10 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 5 , wherein the phosphorous antioxidant is represented by the following formula (III):
wherein p denotes an integer of 1 or 2, D′ represents a methyl group when p denotes an integer of 1 and D′ represents —CH 2 OCH 2 - when p denotes an integer of 2; R′ 9 represents a methyl group, and R′ 10 represents an alkyl group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and is substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, —COOR′ 4 , —CN or —CONR′ 4 R′ 4 ; an alkyl group which has 2 to 18 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O—or —NR′ 4 -; a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group which are substituted with a halogen atom or 1 to 3 alkyl groups or alkoxy groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms in total; a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group; an N-aryl, N-benzyl- or N-alkyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkanoyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkylene-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group or an N-alkylene-4-alkoxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms at the alkylene part or having 1 to 18 carbon atoms at the alkoxy part.
11 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 5 , wherein the phosphorous antioxidant is represented by the following formula (IV):
wherein Q denotes an integer of 2 or 3; A′ represents an alkylene group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, an alkylene group which has 2 to 12 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O—or —NR′ 4 - or the following group when q denotes an integer of 2 and A′ represents —C r H 2r-1 - or —N(CH 2 CH 2 -) 3 when q denotes an integer of 3; r denotes an integer of 5 or 6; and R′ 4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms or a phenylalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part:

12 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 5 , wherein the phosphorous antioxidant is represented by the following formula (V):
wherein y denotes an integer of 1, 2 or 3, W represents an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, —OR′ 16 , —NR′ 17 R′ 18 or a fluorine atom when y denotes an integer of 1; W represents —O—A″—O— or the following group when y denotes an integer of 2; and W represents R′ 4 (CH 2 O-) 3 , N(C 2 H 4 O-) 3 or N(C 3 H 6 O-) 3 when y denotes an integer of 3, and R′ 4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms or a phenylalkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part:
wherein R′ 16 represents an alkyl group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and is substituted with an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a halogen atom, —COOR′ 4 , —CN or —CONR′ 4 R′ 4 ; an alkyl group which has 2 to 18 carbon atoms and is interrupted by —S—, —O— or —NR′ 4 -; a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 8 carbon atoms; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group; a phenyl group or a naphthyl group which are substituted with a halogen atom or 1 to 3 alkyl groups or alkoxy groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms in total; a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group; an N-aryl, N-benzyl- or N-alkyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkanoyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperide-4-yl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms at the alkyl part, an N-alkylene-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group or an N-alkylene-4-alkoxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms at the alkylene part or having 1 to 18 carbon atoms at the alkoxy part; R′ 17 and R′ 18 respectively represent an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a benzyl group, a cyclohexyl group, a 2,2,6,6-tetra or 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperide-4-yl group or R′ 17 and R′ 18 may be combined with each other to represent a butylene group, a pentylene group, a hexylene group or —CH 2 CH 2 —O—CH 2 CH 2 -; when y denotes an integer of 2, A″ represents —C r H 2r-1 - or —N(CH 2 CH 2 -) 3 ; r denotes an integer of 5 or 6; R′ 19 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, each R′ 14 respectively represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 9 carbon atoms or a cyclohexyl group; R′ 15 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and Z represents a single bond, —CH 2 -, —C(R′ 14 )- or —S—.
13 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 2 , wherein the content of the secondary antioxidant in the high-density polyethylene is 100 ppm or more and 2000 ppm or less.
14 . The polyolefin resin composition according to claim 3 , wherein the catalyst is a Ziegler-Natta catalyst.
15 . A support for an image recording material, the support comprising a substrate wherein at least a part of one surface or both surfaces of the substrate is coated with a polyolefin resin composition comprising a secondary antioxidant and substantially not including a primary antioxidant as an antioxidant.

A support for an image recording material, the support comprising a substrate wherein at least a part of one surface or both surfaces of the substrate is coated with the polyolefin resin composition according to claim 15 , the resin composition comprises a high-density polyethylene and the secondary inhibitor is included in the high-density polyethylene.
17 . A support for an image recording material, the support comprising a substrate, wherein at least a part of one surface or both surfaces of the substrate is coated with the polyolefin resin composition according to claim 15 , and the polyolefin resin composition is provided with a high-density polyethylene which is obtained by polymerization using a catalyst and further comprises a hydrotalcite compound as a catalyst deactivating agent for the catalyst.
18 . A method of producing a support for an image recording material, the method comprising extruding the polyolefin resin composition comprising a secondary antioxidant and substantially not including a primary antioxidant as an antioxidant, on a substrate by a melt extruder and coating at least a part of one surface or both surfaces of the substrate with the polyolefin resin composition.
19 . The method of producing a support for a image recording material according to claim 18 , wherein the extrusion is carried out at a temperature of 250° C. or higher.
20 . A method of limiting the generation of gel from a polyolefin resin composition, the resin composition comprising a secondary antioxidant and substantially not including a primary antioxidant as an antioxidant and the method comprising extruding the polyolefin resin composition on a substrate by a melt extruder and coating at least a part of one surface or both surfaces of the substrate with the polyolefin resin composition.
