Inkjet printer cartridge with even distribution of compressed air
View Patent ↗An inkjet printer cartridge including an elongate body housing a printing fluid storage and adapted to be received within an inkjet printer cradle, a pagewidth printhead attached to the body and in fluid communication with the printing fluid storage, and an air distribution assembly arranged to evenly distribute compressed air along the pagewidth printhead.
1. An inkjet printer cartridge comprising:
an elongate body housing a printing fluid storage and adapted to be received within an inkjet printer cradle;
a pagewidth printhead attached to said body and in fluid communication with said printing fluid storage; and
an air distribution assembly for generating an air flow across the pagewidth printhead, the air distribution assembly having an air filter upstream of the pagewidth printhead; wherein,
the air flow is substantially uniform along the length of the pagewidth printhead when upstream air pressure at the filter meets or exceeds a threshold level.
2. An inkjet printer cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the air distribution assembly comprises:
a compressed air inlet; and
a channel formed in the elongate body in communication with said inlet and disposed along the pagewidth printhead, and
wherein the filter is arranged to seal the length of the channel so as to direct air along its length to said printhead upon air pressure within the channel attaining the threshold level.
3. An inkjet printer cartridge according to claim 1 , wherein the filter includes a plurality of pores sized to determine the threshold level.
