Abstract

An optical information recording medium having a holographic recording layer between a first substrate and a second substrate in which optical information is holographically recorded and a method for manufacturing the recording medium are described. The recording medium comprises a disk-shaped recording sheet having a spindle hole which comprises a holographic recording layer, and other layers as appropriate, laminated between disk-shaped first and second substrates having spindle holes.

Claims (20)

1 . A method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium having a holographic recording layer between a first substrate and a second substrate in which optical information is holographically recorded, comprising the steps of:

preparing a first substrate and a second substrates each of which is shaped in the form of a disk having a spindle hole;

forming a disk-shaped recording sheet having a spindle hole which comprises a holographic recording layer, and

forming a lamination of said disk-shaped recording sheet between said first substrate and said second substrate.

2 . A method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium as defined in claim 1 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by punching out a support on which a lamination of a plurality of said holographic recording layers are formed into a disk having a spindle hole.

3 . A method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium as defined in claim 1 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by casting a liquid of photosensitive composition material into a casting mold having a core mandrel and curing said liquid of photosensitive composition material in said molding cavity.

4 . A method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium as defined in claim 1 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by forming a cylindrical rod of photosensitive composition material having a center bore and slicing said cylindrical rod of photosensitive composition material into disk recording sheets.

5 . A method for manufacturing an optical information recording medium as defined in claim 1 , and further comprising the step of fitting said disk-shaped recording sheet between an annular outer spacer and an annular inner spacer before forming said lamination.

6 . An optical information recording medium for holographically recording optical information in a holographic recording layer, comprising:

a disk-shaped first substrate having a spindle hole;

a disk-shaped second substrate having a spindle hole; and

a disk-shaped recording sheet having a spindle hole which comprises a holographic recording layer,

wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is laminated between said first substrate and said second substrate.

7 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by punching out a support on which a lamination of a plurality of said holographic recording layers are formed into a disk having a spindle hole.

8 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by casting a liquid of photosensitive composition material into a casting mold having a core mandrel and curing said liquid of photosensitive composition material in said molding cavity.

8 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet is prepared by forming a cylindrical rod of photosensitive composition material having a center bore and slicing said cylindrical rod of photosensitive composition material into disk sheets.

9 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , and further comprising an annular outer spacer and an annular inner spacer between which said disk-shaped recording sheet is fitted in.

10 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , and further comprising a filter layer formed between said second substrate and said disk-shaped recording sheet.

11 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , wherein said disk-shaped recording sheet has a thickness in a range of from 100 to 2,000 μm.

12 . An optical information recording medium as defined in claim 6 , said optical information recording medium being used with collinear image-bearing and reference beams.
