Abstract

An information recording apparatus such as an optical disc that can avoid an unrecordable condition between a power-on operation and an available state for recording thereby to solve a problem that an image taking chance is missed in a recording step, wherein its constitution is such that: receiving a command to turn on the apparatus after switching, a system controller drives a power-supply circuit to activate a drive controller and a memory controller; if the optical disc is not replaced while in power-off operation by a sub-battery, the system controller issues a request for high-speed activation, based on information stored in an EEPROM, to the drive controller, and drives plural drive control units one after another thereby to establish an activation period confirmedly, allowing the memory controller to accept a request for a recording start from the system controller without waiting for a report of activation completion to be issued by the drive controller.

Claims (52)

a buffer memory which stores information;

a recording portion which records the information to be stored in the buffer memory onto a recording medium;

a command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory;

a power-supply portion for supplying into the information recording apparatus;

a power-supply switch for commanding to start and to stop power supply from the power supply to the recording portion;

a non-volatile memory for storing relevant information for being recordable onto the recording medium;

a monitor portion for monitoring mount or dismount of the recording medium into/from the information recording apparatus; and

a control portion which reads out the relevant information from the non-volatile memory and permits a command by the command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory before transition of the state that the recording portion is recordable onto the recording medium, if mount or dismount of the recording medium is not detected by the monitor portion, from when the power-supply switch commands to stop power supply from the power-supply portion to the recording portion, until when starting power supply again, and which permits a command by the command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory after transition of the state that the recording portion is recordable onto the recording medium, if mount or dismount of the recording medium is detected by the monitor portion, from when the power-supply switch commands to stop power supply from the power-supply portion to the recording portion, until when starting power supply again.

2. The information recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the relevant information is the recording power of the recording portion.

3. The information recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the relevant information is the learning value of the recording phase of the recording portion.

4. The information recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the recording medium is an addable type optical disc and the relevant information is the location at which information is recorded last.

5. The information recording apparatus according to claim 1 ,

further comprising an image taking circuit for taking image,

wherein the recording portion records the image taken by the image taking circuit.

6. The information recording apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the recording medium is the type of the recording medium.

7. An information recording apparatus for recording information, comprising:

a buffer memory which stores information;

a recording portion which records the information to be stored in the buffer memory onto a recording medium;

a command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory;

a power-supply portion for supplying into the information recording apparatus;

a power-supply switch for commanding to start and to stop power supply from the power supply to the recording portion;

a detection portion for detecting an opened or closed state of a cover of a case for accommodating the recording medium;

a non-volatile memory for storing relevant information for being recordable onto the recording medium; and

a control portion which reads out the relevant information from the non-volatile memory and permits a command by the command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory before transition of the state that the recording portion is recordable onto the recording medium, if the opened and closed state of the cover is not detected by the detection portion, from when the power-supply switch commands to stop power supply from the power-supply portion to the recording portion, until when starting power supply again, and which permits a command by the command portion for commanding to start recording information into the buffer memory after transition of the state that the recording portion is recordable onto the recording medium, if the opened and closed state of the cover is detected by the detection portion, from when the power-supply switch commands to stop power supply from the power-supply portion to the recording portion, until when starting power supply again.

8. The information recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the relevant information is the recording power of the recording portion.

9. The information recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the relevant information is the learning value of the recording phase of the recording portion.

10. The information recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the recording medium is an addable type optical disc and the relevant information is the location at which information is recorded last.

11. The information recording apparatus according to claim 8 ,

further comprising an image taking circuit for taking image,

wherein the recording portion records the image taken by the image taking circuit.

12. The information recording apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the recording medium is the type of the recording medium.

13. An information recording method for recording information, comprising the steps of:

permitting a command to start recording information onto a recording medium after transition of a first state that recording means is recordable;

storing relevant information of the record onto the recording medium into a non-volatile memory;

permitting to start recording information before transition of the state that recording means is recordable by reading out the relevant information from the non-volatile memory, if mount or dismount of the recording medium is not done, from when stopping power supply until when starting power supply again, after the first state; and

permitting to start recording information after transition of the state that recording means is recordable, if mount or dismount of the recording medium is done, from when stopping power supply until when starting power supply again, after the first state.

14. The information recording method according to claim 13 , wherein the relevant information is the recording power of the recording portion.

15. The information recording method according to claim 13 , wherein the relevant information is the learning value of the recording phase of the recording portion.

16. The information recording method according to claim 13 , wherein the recording medium is an addable type optical disc and the relevant information is the location at which information is recorded last.

17. The information recording method according to claim 13 , further comprising the step of recording image taken by an image taking circuit.

18. The information recording method according to claim 13 , wherein the recording medium is the type of the recording medium.

19. An information recording method for recording information, comprising the steps of:
