Abstract

The invention is directed to devices that allow for simultaneous multiple biochip analysis. In particular, the devices are configured to hold multiple cartridges comprising biochips comprising arrays such as nucleic acid arrays, and allow for high throughput analysis of samples.

Claims (27)

1 - 24 . (canceled)

25 . A cartridge comprising:

a) a reaction chamber comprising:

i) a substrate comprising a plurality of array locations, each comprising:

A. a self-assembled monolayer (SAM);

B. a capture binding ligand; and

ii) at least one port

b) a mixing element.

26 . A cartridge comprising:

a) a reaction chamber comprising:

i) a substrate comprising an array of electrodes, each comprising:

A. a self-assembled monolayer (SAM);

B. a capture binding ligand; and

ii) at least one port

b) a mixing element.

27 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said port is an inlet port.

28 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said port serves as both an inlet port and an outlet port.

29 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said reaction chamber further comprises a second port, wherein one of said ports is an inlet port and the other of said ports is an outlet port.

30 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said mixing element comprises a pump.

31 . The cartridge according to claim 30 , wherein said pump is a recirculation pump.

32 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said pump is fluidically attached to said reaction chamber.

33 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said mixing element comprises a valve.

34 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said mixing element comprises a heater.

35 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said mixing element comprises a bubble.

36 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said mixing element comprises a piezoelectric transducer.

37 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said capture binding ligands are nucleic acid capture binding ligands.

38 . The cartridge according to claim 25 or 26 , wherein said capture binding ligands are protein capture binding ligands.
