Abstract

A display apparatus with a plurality of display pixel sections includes glass substrate, which are formed to have a thickness that permits bending of the display apparatus, and polarizer plates, which are disposed on the glass substrates, respectively. The polarizer plates are thicker than the glass substrates.

Claims (14)

1. A display apparatus comprising:

a plurality of display pixel sections on a major surface of a substrate, wherein

the substrate has a glass substrate and a polarizer plate that is disposed to extend to an end part of the glass substrate on another major surface of the substrate, and has a thickness greater than a thickness of the glass substrate, and

the glass substrate has a thickness that permits bending of the display apparatus, wherein

the display apparatus is configured to be bendable with a radius of curvature of 200 mm or less.

2. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the glass substrate is 0.15 mm or less.

3. The display apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the thickness of the polarizer plate is 0.5 mm or less.

4. The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the display pixel section includes a switch element near an intersection of a signal line and a scan line that are disposed to be substantially perpendicular to each other on the glass substrate, and

the switch element is composed of a thin film transistor including a polysilicon film.

5. The display apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the display apparatus includes:

a signal line drive circuit on the glass substrate and configured to supply a drive signal to the signal line; and

a scan line drive circuit on the glass substrate and configured to supply a drive signal to the scan line.

6. The display apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the signal line drive circuit and the scan line drive circuit are each composed of thin film transistors including a polysilicon film.
