Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for displaying mobile content in association with a website on a mobile communication facility based at least in part on receiving a website request from a mobile carrier gateway, receiving contextual information relating to the requested website, associating the received contextual information with a mobile content, and, finally, displaying the mobile content with the website on a mobile communication facility.

Claims (34)

1. A method for presenting an advertisement in association with a web page displayed on a mobile communication facility, the method comprising the steps of:

determining a first relevancy score based upon a statistical association between at least a first advertisement and one or more keywords;

determining a second relevancy score based upon a statistical association between at least a second advertisement and the one or more keywords;

receiving a web page request from the mobile communication facility;

receiving contextual information from the web page, wherein the contextual information includes at least the one or more keywords; and

presenting the first advertisement in association with the web page to be displayed on the mobile communication facility based upon a determination that the first relevancy score is greater than the second relevancy score.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein a recipient of the web page request is a telecommunications service provider providing service to the mobile communication facility.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the contextual information further includes a link structure.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the contextual information further includes an inbound link.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the contextual information further includes an outbound link.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the contextual information further includes meta data.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the statistical association between the first and second advertisements and the one or more keywords is performed at least in part on a server.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile communication facility is a phone.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile communication facility is a mobile phone.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile communication facility is a cellular phone.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of providing an opt-in function to an entity associated with the web page, wherein acceptance of the opt-in function causes a statistical association to be performed between advertisements of the entity and the one or more keywords.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the presentation of the first advertisement is to a telecommunications service provider providing service to the mobile communication facility.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the statistical association is further based on user characteristic data of a user of the mobile communication facility, wherein the user characteristic data is selected from the list consisting of:

(a) age or birthdate of the user,

(b) gender of the user,
