Abstract

Techniques are described for securitizing, administrating and trading various index shares securitized by derivative, cash-settled instruments on the underlying index. In some examples, the tradable index shares are backed by a fractional interest in a plurality of derivative financial instruments and an amount of cash about equal to a strike price for one of the plurality of financial instruments to secure the tradable index receipt.

12. The computer implemented method of claim 11 , wherein determining the adjusted amount of cash further comprises adding accrued interest.

13. The computer implemented method of claim 8 , wherein:

the plurality of long call index options contracts comprises between two and ten long call index options contracts; and

the plurality of short put index options contracts comprises between two and ten short put index options contracts.

14. The computer implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the securities index is an index that comprises underlying constituent instruments that have correspondingly traded derivative instruments regardless of asset class.

15. A computer program product having executable instructions stored on a computer readable medium comprising instructions for causing a computer to:

produce a creation unit for a plurality of tradable index shares that provides a multiply enlarged return based on performance of a securities index, by instructions to:

record information related to receipt of a plurality of derivative financial instruments each of the plurality of derivative instruments having a same mark price on a date of generation of the plurality of tradable index shares; and
