Abstract

The present invention relates to methods, kits and apparatus for storing bags in a vehicle during transportation, or carrying more than one bag simultaneously using removably attached hooks. The apparatus of the present invention includes a frame; and one or more removable attachments having at least one hook, attached at an upper portion of the frame. The frame further includes a base; two legs, attached to the base, at an angle, and an upper portion connecting the two legs; wherein the frame is collapsible. A removable attachment, for attachment to the frame has a recess for receiving the upper portion of the frame, a handle and a least one hook (e.g., 2 hooks).

Claims (38)

1 . An apparatus for storing bags in a vehicle during transportation, wherein the apparatus comprises:

a. a frame; and

b. one or more removable attachments having at least one hook, attached at an upper portion of the frame.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the frame further includes:

a. a base;

b. two legs, attached to the base, at an angle, and

c. an upper portion connecting the two legs;

wherein the frame is collapsible.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the two legs are attached to the base at an acute angle.

4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the height of the upper portion of the frame is between about 8 and about 12 inches.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the one or more removable attachments further comprises at least one hook, and a recess for receiving the upper portion of the frame.

6 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the removable attachment further includes two hooks and a handle.

7 . An apparatus for storing bags in a vehicle during transportation, the apparatus comprises:

a. a base;

b. two legs, attached to the base, at an acute angle;

c. an upper bar connecting the two legs;

d. a plurality of hooks attached to the upper bar;

wherein the frame is collapsible, and the height of the upper portion of the frame ranges between about one inch less than the height of a standard shopping bag, and two inches greater than the height of a standard shopping bag.

8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of hooks fold inward with a hinge.

9 . A removable attachment, for attachment to an apparatus for storing bags in a vehicle during transportation, wherein the apparatus includes a frame having an upper portion, the removable attachment comprises:

a. a recess for receiving for the upper portion of said frame;

b. a handle; and

c. a least one hook.

10 . A collapsible frame for storing bags in a vehicle during transportation, the frame comprises:

a. a base;

b. two legs, attached to the base, at an acute angle, and

c. an upper bar connecting the two legs;

wherein the frame is collapsible, and the height of the upper portion of the frame ranges between about one inch less than the height of a standard shopping bag, and two inches greater than the height of a standard shopping bag.

11 . The collapsible frame of claim 10 , wherein the frame can support up to about 40 pounds.

12 . The collapsible frame of claim 11 , wherein the frame is fabricated from a light weight material.

13 . The collapsible frame of claim 12 , wherein the frame is fabricated from plastic, aluminum, titanium, steel, fabric, rubber, and wood.

14 . The collapsible frame of claim 13 , wherein the frame comprises hinges.

15 . The collapsible frame of claim 14 , wherein the frame has an adjustable height, width, or both.

16 . The collapsible frame of claim 15 , wherein the frame comprises telescopic legs, telescopic upper bar, or both.

17 . A method of transporting bags in a vehicle, the method comprises attaching one or more bags to one or more hooks of the apparatus of claim 1 , and driving the vehicle.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the user further includes removing one or more removable attachments having bags hanging on the hooks of the attachment; and carrying the attachment with the bags.

19 . A method of carrying more than one bag simultaneously using the apparatus of claim 7 , wherein one or more bags are hanging from one or more hooks of the apparatus, the method comprises carrying the apparatus using said handle.

A kit for transporting bags in a trunk of a vehicle or carrying more than one bag simultaneously, the kit comprises the frame of claim 10 or one or more pieces thereof, and one or more removable attachments having a recess for receiving the upper portion of said frame; a handle, and a least one hook.
