Abstract

Process for the electrochemical decomposition of precursors in powder form by introducing a powder batch between two electrodes of an electrolysis cell, electrodes being designed to be liquid-permeable, and the electrolyte flowing through the powder batch perpendicularly to the electrode surfaces, and electrolysis cell suitable therefor, which is essentially characterized in that at least one electrode has a structure which consists of a supporting pierced plate ( 5 ), an electrode plate ( 3 ) provided with perforations, and a filter cloth ( 4 ) arranged between the supporting pierced plate ( 5 ) and the electrode plate ( 3 ), and in that the cathode ( 6 ) is shielded from the cell by means of a liquid-permeable separator ( 7 ).

Claims (13)

1. A electrolysis cell, comprising an electrically insulating housing and two parallel liquid-permeable electrodes, at least one electrode being an anode having a structure which comprises a supporting pierced plate, an electrode plate provided with perforations, and a filter cloth arranged between the supporting pierced plate and the electrode plate, at least one electrode being a cathode having cathode structure shielded from the cell by a liquid-permeable separator made of electrically insulating material, a distribution chamber for the electrolyte being provided on the cathode side and a collection chamber for the electrolyte being provided on the anode side, a recirculation line arranged outside the cell being provided, and electrolyte feeding structure being provided for feeding the electrolyte back from the collection chamber to the distribution chamber.

2. The electrolysis cell according to claim 1 , wherein the electrodes being arranged horizontally above one another, the anode forming the lower electrode, and the cathode being arranged vertically mobile in the housing, wherein the electrode spacing is determined by the height of solid-material that is filled between the electrodes.

3. The electrolysis cell according to claim 2 , further comprising removal structure for removing some of the electrolysis brine and supply structure for supplying fresh electrolyte being provided in the distribution chamber, the collection chamber and/or in the recirculation line.

4. The electrolysis cell according to claim 3 , wherein the removal structure comprises a removal line communicating with and exiting from the distribution chamber, and the supply structure comprises an electrolyte line communicating with and entering into the distribution chamber.

5. The electrolysis cell according to claim 2 , further comprising drawing off structure for drawing off hydrogen being provided in the distribution chamber.

6. The electrolysis cell according to one of claims 5 , wherein the drawing off structure comprises a hydrogen line communicating with and exiting from the distribution chamber.

7. The electrolysis cell according to claim 1 , further comprising removal structure for removing some of the electrolysis brine and supply structure for supplying fresh electrolyte being provided in the distribution chamber, the collection chamber and/or in the recirculation line.

8. The electrolysis cell according to claim 7 , further comprising drawing off structure for drawing off hydrogen being provided in the distribution chamber.

9. The electrolysis cell according to one of claims 8 , wherein the drawing off structure comprises a hydrogen line communicating with and exiting from the distribution chamber.

10. The electrolysis cell according to claim 7 , wherein the removal structure comprises a removal line communicating with and exiting from the distribution chamber, and the supply structure comprises an electrolyte line communicating with and entering into the distribution chamber.

11. The electrolysis cell according to claim 1 , further comprising drawing off structure for drawing off hydrogen being provided in the distribution chamber.

12. The electrolysis cell according to claim 11 , wherein the drawing off structure comprises a hydrogen line communicating with and exiting from the distribution chamber.

13. The electrolysis cell according to claim 1 , wherein the electrolyte feeding structure comprises a hose pump communicating with the collection chamber and the recirculation line communicating with the hose pump and entering into the distribution chamber.
