Abstract

A gaming system, comprising: a plurality of affiliated properties; a plurality of gaming devices, wherein at least one of the gaming devices is located in a first affiliated property and a second gaming device from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a second affiliated property; and a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a gaming and/or non-gaming feature to each of the plurality of devices located within the affiliated properties, whereby the gaming and/or non-gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated properties.

Claims (120)

1 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a plurality of gaming devices, wherein at least one gaming terminal from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a first affiliated casino and at least a second gaming device from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a second affiliated casino; and

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a bonus feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the bonus feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

2 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

3 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

4 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

5 . The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

6 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a plurality of gaming devices, wherein at least one of the gaming devices is located in a first affiliated casino and at least a second gaming device from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a second affiliated casino; and

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a bonus feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the bonus feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

7 . The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

8 . The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

9 . The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

10 . The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

11 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a progressive game feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the progressive game feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

12 . The gaming system of claim 12 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

13 . The gaming system of claim 12 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

14 . The gaming system of claim 12 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

15 . The gaming system of claim 12 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

16 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a progressive game feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the progressive game feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

17 . The gaming system of claim 17 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

18 . The gaming system of claim 17 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

19 . The gaming system of claim 17 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

20 . The gaming system of claim 17 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

21 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a tournament feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the tournament feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

22 . The gaming system of claim 23 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

23 . The gaming system of claim 23 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

24 . The gaming system of claim 23 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

25 . The gaming system of claim 23 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

26 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a tournament feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the tournament feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

27 . The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

28 . The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

29 . The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

30 . The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

31 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a shared primary game feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the shared primary game feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

32 . The gaming system of claim 34 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

33 . The gaming system of claim 34 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

34 . The gaming system of claim 34 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

35 . The gaming system of claim 34 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

36 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a shared primary game feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the shared primary game feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

37 . The gaming system of claim 39 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

38 . The gaming system of claim 39 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

39 . The gaming system of claim 39 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

40 . The gaming system of claim 39 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

41 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing an on-line gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the on-line gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

42 . The gaming system of claim 45 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

43 . The gaming system of claim 45 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

44 . The gaming system of claim 45 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

45 . The gaming system of claim 45 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

46 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing an on-line gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the on-line gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

47 . The gaming system of claim 50 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

48 . The gaming system of claim 50 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

49 . The gaming system of claim 50 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

50 . The gaming system of claim 50 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

51 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated casinos;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a non-gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the non-gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

52 . The gaming system of claim 56 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each remaining affiliated casinos.

53 . The gaming system of claim 56 , wherein the casinos are commonly owned.

54 . The gaming system of claim 56 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

55 . The gaming system of claim 56 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

56 . A gaming system including a plurality of affiliated casinos, the gaming system comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a non-gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated casinos, whereby the non-gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated casinos.

57 . The gaming system of claim 61 , wherein each affiliated casino is located remote from each of the other affiliated casinos.

58 . The gaming system of claim 61 , wherein each of the affiliated casinos is under common ownership.

59 . The gaming system of claim 61 , wherein the casinos are commonly controlled.

60 . The gaming system of claim 61 , wherein the casinos are commonly managed.

61 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated properties;

a plurality of gaming devices, wherein at least one gaming terminal from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a first affiliated property and at least a second gaming device from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a second affiliated property; and

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated properties, whereby the gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated properties.

62 . The gaming system of claim 67 , wherein each of the affiliated properties is located remote from each of the others.

63 . The gaming system of claim 67 , wherein the properties are under common ownership.

64 . The gaming system of claim 67 , wherein the properties are under common control.

65 . The gaming system of claim 67 , wherein the properties are under common management.

66 . In a gaming system for a plurality of affiliated properties, the combination comprising:

a plurality of gaming devices, wherein at least one of the gaming devices is located in a first affiliated property and at least a second gaming device from the plurality of gaming devices is located in a second affiliated property; and

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated properties, whereby the gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated properties.

67 . The gaming system of claim 72 , wherein each of the affiliated properties is located remote from each of the other properties.

68 . The gaming system of claim 72 , wherein each of the affiliated properties is under common ownership.

69 . The gaming system of claim 72 , wherein the properties are under common control.

71 . A gaming system, comprising:

a plurality of affiliated properties;

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices and capable of providing a non-gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated properties, whereby the non-gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated properties.

72 . The gaming system of claim 78 , wherein each of the affiliated properties is located remote from each of the others.

73 . The gaming system of claim 78 , wherein the properties are under common ownership.

74 . The gaming system of claim 78 , wherein the properties are under common control.

76 . In a gaming system for a plurality of affiliated properties, the combination comprising:

a server in communication with the plurality of gaming devices for collecting gaming related data and capable of providing a non-gaming feature to each of the plurality of terminals located within the affiliated properties, whereby the non-gaming feature only is provided to the affiliated properties.

77 . The gaming system of claim 83 , wherein each of the affiliated properties is located remote from each of the other properties.
