Abstract

A protective plate for a plasma display comprises conductive substrate for protecting a plasma display and an electrode in electrical contact with the conductive substrate.

Claims (21)

1. A protective plate for a plasma display comprising:

a conductive substrate for protecting a plasma display, comprising a substrate and a conductive film formed on the substrate, and

an electrode formed on and in electrical contact with the conductive substrate, wherein the conductive film comprises alternating oxide and metal layers laminated into a multilayer structure having a total of seven layers, wherein the total thickness of the oxide and metal layers is 230 to 330 nm.

2. The protective plate according to claim 1 , wherein the film thickness of the second metal layer, which is the fourth layer, is 105 to 150% of the film thickness of the first metal layer, which is the second layer, and 105 to 150% of the film thickness of the third metal layer, which is the sixth layer.

3. The protective plate according to claim 1 , wherein each of the metal layers comprises Ag as a main component.

4. The protective plate according to claim 1 , wherein each of the oxide layers comprises ZnO as a main component.

5. The protective plate according to claim 3 , wherein each of the metal layers comprises Ag as a main component and Pd or Au, or both Pd and Au.

6. A protective plate for a plasma display comprising:

a conductive substrate for protective a plasma display, comprising a substrate and a conducting film formed on the substrate, and

an electrode formed on and in electrical contact with the conductive substrate, wherein the conductive film comprises alternating oxide and metal layers laminated into a multilayer structure having a total of nine layers, wherein the total thickness of the oxide and metal layers is 270 to 370 nm.

7. The protective plate according to claim 6 , wherein a total thickness of the oxide and metal layers is 310 to 350 nm.

8. The protective plate according to claim 6 , wherein each of the metal layers comprises Ag as a main component.

9. The protective plate according to claim 6 , wherein each of the oxide layers comprises ZnO as a main component.

10. The protective plate according to claim 9 , wherein each of the oxide layers comprises ZnO containing at least one metal other than Zn.

11. The protective plate according to claim 10 , wherein the at least one metal other than Zn is contained in an amount of 1 to 10 atomic % of the sum total amount of the metal and Zn.

12. The protective plate according to claim 9 , wherein the substrate is a glass plate.

13. The protective plate according to claim 12 , wherein the substrate is a strengthened glass plate.

14. The protective plate for a plasma display according to claim 1 , wherein the respective oxide layers have a plurality of thin oxide layers containing a layer comprising ZnO as the main component.

15. The protective plate for a plasma display according to claim 14 , wherein the layer comprising ZnO as the main component is an oxide layer comprising ZnO containing at least one metal other than Zn.

16. The protective plate for a plasma display according to claim 6 , wherein the respective oxide layers have a plurality of thin oxide layers containing a layer comprising ZnO as the main component.

17. The protective plate for a plasma display according to claim 16 , wherein the layer comprising ZnO as the main component is an oxide layer comprising ZnO containing at least one metal other than Zn.
