Abstract

Apparatus for cleaning a window of a vehicle, including a vessel, having an inlet through which a washing fluid is received from a reservoir and an outlet through which the fluid is discharged for cleaning the window, a heating element for heating the fluid in the vessel, a controller for controlling flow of the fluid through the vessel and an actuator in wireless communication with the controller.

Claims (16)

1. Apparatus for cleaning a window of a vehicle, comprising:

a vessel, having an inlet through which a washing fluid is received from a reservoir and an outlet through which the fluid is discharged for cleaning the window;

a heating element for heating the fluid in the vessel;

a controller for controlling flow of the fluid through the vessel and operating said heating element; and

an actuator in wireless communication with said controller,

said controller, upon actuation by said actuator, operating said heating element and thereby preheating said vessel prior to said fluid being received therein.

2. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator is located inside said vehicle.

3. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator is located outside said vehicle.

4. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator comprises a remote input device.

5. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator is operative to actuate a wiper to wipe fluid from said window.

6. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator comprises an active device.

7. Apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein said active device comprises an RF transmitter.

8. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said actuator comprises a passive device.

9. Apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein said passive device comprises an optical retroreflector.

10. Apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein said passive device comprises an infrared device.

11. Apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said preheated vessel rapidly heats at least an initial quantity of fluid received therein.
