Abstract

In a pixel part, in a first active region, a photodiode and a transferring transistor are formed. In a second active region, a resetting transistor is formed. In a pixel part, in a first active region, a photodiode and a transferring transistor are formed. In a second active region, an amplifying transistor is formed. The first and second active regions are respectively the same in shape in image pixel parts. The resetting transistor and the amplifying transistor are shared by the pixel parts.

Claims (10)

1. An image sensor comprising:

a first image pickup element arranged in an array area having first and second photoelectric conversion elements, first and second transferring transistors, a resetting transistor coupled to said first and second transferring transistors, and an amplifying transistor coupled to said first and second transferring transistors;

a second image pickup element having the same shape as said first image pickup element arranged adjacent to said first image pickup element in a first direction in said array area having first and second photoelectric conversion elements, first and second transferring transistors, a resetting transistor coupled to said first and second transferring transistors, and an amplifying transistor coupled to first and second transferring transistors; and

a horizontal scanning circuit supplying a first control signal and a second control signal; wherein

said first control signal is supplied to said first transferring transistor of said first image pickup element and said second transferring transistor of said second image pickup element, and said second control signal is supplied to said resetting transistor of said first image pickup element; and wherein

each of said first and second transferring transistors is extended along a second direction from each of said first and second photoelectric conversion elements.

2. The image sensor according to claim 1 , wherein

said first and second image pickup elements are arranged in a zigzag and said horizontal scanning circuit is arranged adjacent to said array area in said first direction.

3. The image sensor according to claim 1 , wherein

a plurality of first and second image pickup elements are arranged in said first direction, and said first control signal is supplied to said respective first transferring transistors of said plurality of first image pickup elements, and said respective transferring transistors of said plurality of second image pickup elements.
