Infusion device with dome pump
A disposable infusion device comprises a base arranged to adhere to a patient's skin, a cannula arranged to extend from the base to beneath the patient's skin to deliver a liquid medicament to the patient, and a source arranged to provide the cannula with a liquid medicament. The source includes a pump arranged to be driven by the patient that pumps the liquid medicament to the cannula.
1 . A disposable infusion device comprising:
a base arranged to adhere to a patient's skin;
a cannula arranged to extend from the base to beneath the patient's skin to deliver a liquid medicament to the patient; and
a source arranged to provide the cannula with a liquid medicament, the source including a pump arranged to be driven by the patient that pumps the liquid medicament to the cannula.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the pump comprises a dome pump.
3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the dome pump includes an inner cavity for containing a volume of liquid medicament to be delivered to the cannula and an intake valve communicating with the inner cavity through which the liquid medicament enters the inner cavity.
4 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the dome pump includes an inner cavity for containing a volume of liquid medicament to be delivered to the cannula and an output valve communicating with the inner cavity through which the liquid medicament exits the inner cavity.

The device of claim 2 , wherein the dome pump includes a membrane defining an inner cavity for containing the liquid medicament to be delivered to the cannula, the membrane being deformable upon being driven by the patient for reducing the volume of the inner cavity and forcing a volume of the liquid medicament to the cannula.
6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the dome pump includes a stop that limits deformation of the membrane and defines the volume of liquid medicament delivered to the cannula.
7 . A disposable infusion device comprising:
a base arranged to adhere to a patient's skin;
a cannula arranged to extend from the base to beneath the patient's skin to deliver a liquid medicament to the patient;
a reservoir for holding the liquid medicament; and
a pump arranged to be driven by the patient that pumps the liquid medicament to the cannula, the pump being a dome pump.

The device of claim 7 , wherein the dome pump includes a membrane defining with the base an inner cavity for containing the liquid medicament to be delivered to the cannula, the membrane being deformable upon being driven by the patient for reducing the volume of the inner cavity and forcing a volume of the liquid medicament to the cannula.
9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the dome pump includes a stop that limits deformation of the membrane and defines the volume of liquid medicament delivered to the cannula.
10 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the dome pump includes an intake valve communicating with the inner cavity through which the liquid medicament enters the inner cavity.
11 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the dome pump includes an output valve communicating with the inner cavity through which the liquid medicament exits the inner cavity.
