Abstract

The invention relates to mutated variants of the proB gene from coryneform bacteria, which encode γ-glutamyl kinase, and to processes for fermentative production of L-proline using bacteria which contain this mutation.

Claims (8)

1. An isolated polynucleotide, which encodes a polypeptide comprising of SEQ ID NO: 4.

2. The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 , which comprises SEQ ID NO:3.

3. A recombinant vector comprising the isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 .

4. A recombinant vector comprising the isolated polynucleotide of claim 2 .

5. A host cell comprising the isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 .

6. A host cell comprising the isolated polynucleotide of claim 2 .

7. The host cell of claim 5 , which is a Corynebacterium host cell.

8. The host cell of claim 6 , which is a Corynebacterium host cell.
