Abstract

The invention relates to phosphorus-containing mixtures containing compounds of the formula RO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 H and  (I) HO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 R  (II) in which A is C 1 -C 18 -alkyl, C 6 -C 18 -alkylaryl, C 6 -C 18 -aralkyl or aryl, R is (D,E)C═C(B, R 5 ), H B, D, E are identical or different and are each H or C 1 -C 18 -alkyl R 5 is C 1 -C 20 -alkylene, a process for their preparation and their use.

Claims (51)

1. A mixture comprising compounds of the formulas

RO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 H and  (I)

HO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 R  (II)

wherein

A is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl,

R is (D,E)C═C(B, R 5 )

B, D, E are identical or different and are each H or methyl

R 5 is a saturated or unsaturated or polyunsaturated C 1 -C 20 -alkylene.

2. The mixture as claimed in claim 1 , comprising compounds of the formula

RO—P(═O)(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 H and  (I)

H—OP(═O)(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 —R, wherein  (II)

A is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl,

R is (D,E)C═C(B, R 5 ),

D being H or methyl,

E being H or methyl,

B being H or methyl,

R 5 is a saturated or unsaturated or polyunsaturated C 1 -C 20 -alkylene.

3. The mixture as claimed in claim 1 , comprising from 99.9 to 20% by weight of the compound of the formula (I) and from 0.1 to 80% by weight of the compound of the formula (II), the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

4. A process for the preparation of mixtures comprising compounds of the formula

RO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 H and  (I)

HO—PO(A)-CH 2 —CH 2 —CO 2 R  (II)

wherein

A is methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl,

R is (D,E)C═C(B, R 5 ),

B, D, E are identical or different and are each H or methyl

R 5 is a saturated, unsaturated or polyunsaturated C 1 -C 20 -alkylene, comprising the step of reacting an oxaphospholane with an olefin component.

5. The process as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the oxaphospholane is of the formula (III)

6. The process as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the mixtures comprises from 99.9 to 20% by weight of the compound of the formula (I) and from 0.1 to 80% by weight of the compound of the formula (II), the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

7. A process for the preparation of a flameproofing composition comprising the step of adding a mixture as claimed in claim 1 to the flameproofing composition during production of the flameproofing composition.

8. A flameproofing composition, comprising from 99.9 to 40% by weight of a mixture as claimed in claim 1 and from 0.1 to 60% by weight of olefin component, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

A flameproofed polymer molding material, comprising from 0.5 to 50% by weight of a mixture as claimed in claim 1 , from 1 to 99% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer or a mixture thereof, from 0 to 60% by weight of additives and from 0 to 60% by weight of a filler, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

The flameproofed polymer molding material as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the thermoplastic or mixture thereof are high-impact polystyrene, polyphenylene ether, polyamides, polyesters, and polycarbonates blends or polymer blends of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene.

11. A polymer molding, film, filament or fiber comprising at least one polymer and from 0.5 to 50% by weight of a mixture as claimed in claim 1 .

12. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermoplastic polymer and wherein the thermoplastic polymer is high-impact polystyrene, polyphenylene ether, polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates blends or polymer blends of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, polyamide, polyester acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or mixtures thereof.

14. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermosetting polymer and wherein the thermosetting polymer is formaldehyde-, epoxy- or melamine-phenol resin polymers polyurethanes or mixtures thereof.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 11 , comprising from 0.5 to 50% by weight of the mixture, from 1 to 99% by weight of a the at least one polymer, from 0 to 60% by weight of additives and from 0 to 60% by weight of a filler, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 11 , comprising from 1 to 40% by weight of the mixture, from 1 to 99% by weight of the at least one polymer, wherein the at least one polymer is a thermosetting polymer or a mixture thereof, from 0.5 to 60% by weight of additives and from 0.5 to 60% by weight of a filler, reinforcing material or both, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

17. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 16 , wherein the thermosetting polymer or mixture thereof is selected from the group consisting of unsaturated polyester resins, dicyclopentadiene-modified unsaturated polyesters, polyphenylene ethers and butadiene polymers.

An article comprising a polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 16 , wherein the article is selected from the group consisting of electrical switch parts, components in automotive construction, electrical engineering, electronics, circuit boards, prepregs, potting compounds for electronic components, boat and rotor blade construction, in GFR outdoor applications, household and sanitary applications and engineering materials.

19. A mixture of compounds made in accordance with the process as claimed in claim 4 .

20. A flameproofing agent comprising a mixture as claimed in claim 1 .

21. A flameproofing composition made in accordance with the process as claimed in claim 7 .

22. A polymer molding, film, filament or fiber comprising at least one polymer and from 0.5 to 50% by weight of a flameproofed polymer molding material as claimed in claim 9 .

23. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 22 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 22 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermoplastic polymer and wherein the thermoplastic polymer is high-impact polystyrene, polyphenylene ether, polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonates blends or polymer blends of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, polyamide, polyester acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or mixtures thereof.

25. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 22 , wherein the at least one polymer is a thermosetting polymer and wherein the thermosetting polymer is formaldehyde-, epoxy- or melamine-phenol resin polymers polyurethanes or mixtures thereof.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 22 , comprising from 0.5 to 50% by weight of the mixture, from 1 to 99% by weight of a the at least one polymer, from 0 to 60% by weight of additives and from 0 to 60% by weight of a filler, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 22 , comprising from 1 to 40% by weight of the mixture, from 1 to 99% by weight of the at least one polymer, wherein the at least one polymer is a thermosetting polymer or a mixture thereof, from 0.5 to 60% by weight of additives and from 0.5 to 60% by weight of a filler, reinforcing material or both, the sum of the components always being 100% by weight.

28. The polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 27 , wherein the thermosetting polymer or mixture thereof is selected from the group consisting of unsaturated polyester resins, dicyclopentadiene-modified unsaturated polyesters, polyphenylene ethers and butadiene polymers.

An article comprising a polymer molding, film, filament or fiber as claimed in claim 27 , wherein the article is selected from the group consisting of electrical switch parts, components in automotive construction, electrical engineering, electronics, circuit boards, prepregs, potting compounds for electronic components, boat and rotor blade construction, in GFR outdoor applications, household and sanitary applications and engineering materials.
