Ultra-wideband constant gain CMOS amplifier
View Patent ↗Circuitry and methods for improved amplifiers with large bandwidth and constant gain are provided. The combination of a synthetic inductive drain load and a bridged-T matching network provide amplifiers that can drive a substantial capacitive load with the above mentioned improvements over prior amplifiers. Additionally, circuits presented allow for improved rise time and insensitivity to temperature variations.
1. An amplifier circuit comprising:
a first circuit that provides a first current, wherein the impedance of the first circuit increases as frequency increases; and
a second circuit that receives the first current and provides a second current to a load, wherein the second circuit compensates for reactive impedance effects associated with the load; and
a third circuit for varying the amount of the second current provided to the load.
