Abstract

The present invention relates to novel human secreted proteins and isolated nucleic acids containing the coding regions of the genes encoding such proteins. Also provided are vectors, host cells, antibodies, and recombinant methods for producing human secreted proteins. The invention further relates to diagnostic and therapeutic methods useful for diagnosing and treating diseases, disorders, and/or conditions related to these novel human secreted proteins.

Claims (41)

1. An isolated antibody or fragment thereof that binds specifically to an isolated HNFIP24 polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a polypeptide comprising amino acid residues 1 to 234 of SEQ ID NO:478;

(b) a polypeptide comprising amino acid residues 2 to 234 of SEQ ID NO:478;

(c) a polypeptide comprising amino acid residues 27 to 234 of SEQ ID NO:478;

(d) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of the full-length polypeptide, which amino acid sequence is encoded by the cDNA contained in ATCC™ Deposit No:209049, which was deposited on May 15, 1997;

(e) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of the HNFIP24 polypeptide, excluding the N-terminal methionine residue, which amino acid sequence is encoded by a polynucleotide contained within the cDNA contained in ATCC™ Deposit No:209049, which was deposited on May 15, 1997; and

(f) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of the HNFIP24 polypeptide, excluding the leader sequence of the polypeptide, which amino acid sequence is encoded by a polynucleotide contained within the cDNA contained in ATCC™ Deposit No:209049, which was deposited on May 15, 1997.

2. A recombinant host cell that expresses the isolated antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 .

3. A method of making the isolated antibody or fragment thereof comprising:

(a) culturing the recombinant host cell of claim 2 under conditions such that said antibody or fragment thereof is expressed; and

(b) recovering said antibody or fragment thereof.

4. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (a).

5. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (b).

6. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (c).

7. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (d).

8. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (e).

9. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds (f).

10. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is polyclonal.

11. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is monoclonal.

12. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 which is selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a chimeric antibody or fragment thereof;

(b) a humanized antibody or fragment thereof;

(c) a single chain antibody; and

(d) a Fab fragment.

13. A hybridoma that produces the antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 .

14. An isolated antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds a HNFIP24 polypeptide purified from a cell culture wherein said HNFIP24 polypeptide consists of amino acid residues 1 to 234 of SEQ ID NO:478.

15. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 14 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is monoclonal.

16. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 14 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is polyclonal.

17. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 14 which is selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a chimeric antibody or fragment thereof;

(b) a humanized antibody or fragment thereof;

(c) a single chain antibody; and

(d) a Fab fragment.

18. An isolated antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds a HNFIP24 polypeptide purified from a cell culture wherein said cell culture comprises a polynucleotide encoding amino acid residues 1 to 234 of SEQ ID NO:478.

19. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 18 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is monoclonal.

20. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 18 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is polyclonal.

21. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 18 which is selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a chimeric antibody or fragment thereof;

(b) a humanized antibody or fragment thereof;

(c) a single chain antibody; and

(d) a Fab fragment.
